Sampson Gone

Matt Roth........legions of BU fans would love to see you lighting up the Valley as a Brave!

If Matt decides to get out of his LOI at Indy he will be attending ISU, Porter is gone and the family really likes Jank.

I bet Devin Ebanks' phone has been ringing of the hook for the past hour...

"Hey, Devin, what's up? This is Coach Calipari...just giving you a call to see how high school was going...what? Coach Sampson is gone?...No, I hadn't heard about that. Huh...Well, since you brought it up...exactly how firm is your commitment to IU now? Just curious..."

this has not yet been confirmed by IU, but it is also being rumored that two assistants will also be leaving........

--Jeff Meyer who was also named as being thoroughly involved in the
improper phone calls and the coverup. Oddly Meyer lost his last job a couple
years ago while working as an assistant at Mizzou and Quin Snyder was fired.
While at Mizzou, he was also tied to some of the improprieties there. Just as
the AD has to bear some responsibility for hiring a known rules-breaker in
Sampson, the same question needs to be raised about why they hired this
guy.

--Kellen Sampson who is graduate assistant under his father Kelvin

Porters history would have nothing to do with any such decision to go to ISU. If it did, he would go to St. Louis, not the school that fired Moser.

And ISU has about a hundred shooting guards, I think, and beside that, they have no available scholarships. I think that would make a difference to the Roths. I can't see him walking-on. I would be very surprised if Matt Roth would consider ISU.

But there is this rumor that Chamberlain Oguchi is going to walk on and free up a scholarship for someone...

Well, it will take a long healing process before my deep, passionate hatred for IU ever subsides, but this is a start. Not that firing him now is really going to do too much. IU will still make the tournament.

I dont want that cheating crap up here no matter how bad the Bulls are doing.

Oh come on. I'm not defending Sampson because he is an ******************** for doing it again after already getting caught but the guy made impermissable phone calls. It's not like his players are getting in fights and attacking fans with no repercussions (Calipari) or involved in shootings. He's a great game coach as he's proven over time and I don't think the NBA is going to monitor his Sprint bill.

Ports history I meant he is gone, fired etc....

Just curious...if Kelvin Sampson wasn't the reason you have a deep hatred for IU basketball what was it? Just the rivalry with U of I, Bobby Knight? The 5 national Championships hanging in a building with the same name as the one in Champaign (which by the way has none)? sorry about the cheap shot i'm just wondering.

If Roth decommited do we even have/want to use a scholarship on another guard?

I think we would obviously like to have a solid big fall into our laps but having Matt Roth would be great for the program. He would put people in the seats for 4 years in the same manner that Daniel and Jeremy have. There's something about home-grown talent and let's not forget that he would be the star of our class.
