SI's newest mag has there Basketball preview and it lists Bradley as a Cinderella that will dance late into march. The also state that Ruffin is the BEST player in the MVC. Good pub for the Braves.

Nice to see the Braves hit the national scene with SI.........for it gets into a lot of homes! Also very good to get DR some national press which is due IMO! Congrats DAnny!

Here is one more article citing Daniel Ruffin--

Fran Fraschilla of ESPN writes in his blog about the best point guards in the US. You have to scroll through the lists of major guards, but then he lists:

Best mid-major point guards:
Eric Maynor, VCU
Daniel Ruffin, Bradley
Bryan Mullins, Southern Illinois
Jason Richards, Davidson

Also, note at the bottom of the article a bit about a kid that Jim Les almost landed at Bradley. James Johnson committed to Wake Forest over Bradley. He is a freshman at Wake this year, and Fraschilla says this about him:

??? I had NBA friends raving about Wake Forest freshman James Johnson this past weekend. The 6-foot-8 forward is built to play inside but is equally adept on the perimeter. A relatively unheralded player from Cheyenne, Wyo., until the summer before his senior year, Johnson is one of the building blocks for Dino Gaudio's young Demon Deacons.

i must be stupid because i just picked up si and don't see that. what i see is bradley ranked #37 and this comment-the braves have the active career assists leader(daniel ruffin) and last year's fifth-most accurate three-point shooterjeremy crouch).

The item that raved about Ruffin was online. It was Seth Davis's 5-minute look at Cinderella's, etc.

Hmmm. So no one who think the sky is falling after the UIC game is going to ask if it was written pre or post opener?

This kid Johnson is a true stud. He will be the ACC's top freshman and is a future Pro!

Too bad we missed out on him:(
