Has anyone ever mentioned the recruiting "scam" disguised as a charitable organization that feeds the foreign players to Decatur Prep and other schools?
Various state high school rules and NCAA rules prohibit outside dollars from rounding up players and funnelling them to select high schools, then paying their tuition.
But this all gets done with the ultimate goal of getting the kids to colleges, then the pros, where a big return can be seen in the initial investment. When you hear about the tens of millions of dollars the pros get in salaries and shoe money, even a small amount of that in the European pros is still a big payoff for some of these "scams".
How come nobody asks where the money comes from to send these poor African kids to America, house them, pay tuition, etc.?
Why do the coaches of schools like Decatur Prep and AAU promoters like Reg Tisdale supposedly "serve" on the boards of charitable organizations, whose sole job is to pay the costs of getting players to the US and putting them on high school and AAU teams, interestingly coached by those very coaches and AAU promoter? (recall, big shoe dollars get spent at AAU events outside the scrutiny of state organizations and NCAA.)
Nobody ever seems to talk about this.
