Thinking if different than posting in a public domain DC. You can see that can't you?

Sure I see the difference. But you are naive if you don't think other kids tweet about this, you just haven't had them brought to your attention.
But there is still nothing illegal or heinous here. We have some people suggesting he broke laws and should be expelled for goodness sake.

I don't understand all the animosity and anger. The coach will deal with this, I am not worried.

If this was my wife or daughter and I found out that someone was taking photos of them and posting them without their knowledge and making those comments...I'd be livid.

Who's wife or daughter is in your avitar?

Not tyring to start something but reading you post under that pic made me laugh.

Ben....I'll ask you. Did you READ what he said? Seriously. What if the professor was YOUR wife.....? WHat if the girl in class was your daughter?

He's had TWO previous suspensions correct? JL says there IS a policy in place about social media sights and he crossed it.

So, you get to play but not start...sorry...BIG DEAL. He NEEDS to sit...he will and his teammates should be mad as he** at him.

Charm school no but its an institution of higher learning and life lessons need to be taught. What he did could very well get a person canned in the businessworld. I think BU and ANY university is responsible for teaching these kids more then Algebra, English and World History.....they also need to learn basic life lessons.

I ONLY hope its not to late for TB...I mean, whats next.

IF he learns from another benching then good. I'm just wondering if he can stay clean for TWO more years.

Very hard to hear about this again with TB. I have read a few of his tweets and while I agree that other students may have thought the same things, that doesn't make it right for him to do it. I understand he is only 20 years old, but if the people around him had the attitude of this is no big deal, he is just a kid, others felt the same thing, etc..when does he learn? If he is missing the game tonight, then I applaud JL for the decision. Someone has to step up and reign him in.
As for this hurting the rest of the team....you are right it will. It is a privilege to be a part of any team, and there are rules and expectations to meet. You don't meet those, then there is punishment. I teach and coach and my rules are simple, make the grade or sit. No practices, no games....does this hurt the team? yep, but those kids learn what is truly important. If this was my wife or daughter and I found out that someone was taking photos of them and posting them without their knowledge and making those comments...I'd be livid.

You guys said it all perfectly! I agree 110% I just have a hard time figuring out why others can't. :?: :?: IF this were a situation at ISU, UT, KU or UK it would be a capital offense to some. This is Bradley for God's sake! :o We're better than that!! This isn't some second rate state university!

You are reading this 100% wrong. I know, and I agree with whatever the coach's decision is. I do, however, think there has been a whole lot more made of this than it deserves. I have followed BU players' twitter accounts for a couple years, and I have seen much worse. And there are far worse examples elsewhere, too.
As I said above, if anyone can cite a law that was broken, or a University code, or athletic code violation, please do so. But if not, then the worst we can accuse TB of is rudeness, crassness, and immaturity. Sounds quite similar to stuff that 90% of kids do.

Oh-oh this is scary, I actually am on the same page with what The Coach just wrote.
Other than stupididty what??????????????????

University Standards of Conduct 8, 15, and 18, were violated. There was also the potential for Standard of Conduct 5 being at play, but I understand isn't going to be.

are we talking about the "she's so fine that he can concentrate????

Thats SOME of it Ben but lets do this. Lets forget what he said and simply focus on the big picture.

IF he is suspended tonite like it looks as though he will be then thats THREE times this year he has violated team rules and its three times he has let his teammates, his coaches, his family and his BU family down.

I'd say thats a pattern and its disturbing.

He's not thinking before he acts and the NEXT violation...well lets just hope it doesn't come to that.

I don't have a copy of the University codes. Post the details if you can. But I would be surprised if what TB did violates any codes. If it did, most of the students would be subject to penalty.

http://www.bradley.edu/student_handbook/2009/policies/conduct.shtml

Is this the standards of conduct that you were referring to?

8. Violation of published University policies or campus regulations including, but not limited to, housing regulations, campus regulations concerning the registration of student organizations, and the use of University facilities;

15. Indecent, obscene, or inappropriately loud conduct, expression, or action at a University-sponsored or supervised functions;

18. Any act or conduct which threatens to interfere with or disrupt the educational process or other legitimate function of the University or which endangers the health, safety, or property of any member of the Bradley community.

And according to you, possibly number 5

5. Sexual assault, sexual harassment or sexual misconduct of any person on or connected with the campus or at any University sponsored or supervised function or event. (See Statement on Racial Discrimination and Sexual Harassment and Definition of Sexual Misconduct.)

DRU, I didn't say that TB should not be punished I have stated that there are other things that should be done that would be more suitable for what happened! I think that TB should play but not start as a part of his punishment! I also think that some of the posts here are verging on the puritanical side!

Love ya Squirrel but, violation of those articles, is a real stretch .

cant have it both ways. cant say it is not a big deal but i agree with our coach and whatever they do. coach les already has shown it is a big deal by commenting publicly on it and saying he crossed the line.

it is either coach les is making too big deal of this or what tb did was a big deal & should be punished.funny to see some trying to play both sides against the middle.

some just need to have some backbone and standards of behavior.

That same Standards of Conduct says number 11 is Gambling.

Does that mean that as a Student who is of age, that I can't go and gamble at a Casino?

At the top of the Standards of Conduct, there is a paragraph that reads "Students who violate University regulations may be subject to disciplinary sanctions as outlined in this Student Handbook. Students may also be subject to disciplinary sanctions for conduct that occurs off campus. Primary types of unacceptable group or individual behavior are:"

Seriously, if some on here got wind ;) of his going on elsewhere, there would be a new thread that the program is out of control and calling for the coach or school to do something. But then a point would be made that because they are a "big time" program, that nothing will be done and they will simply look the other way...

The other tweets that I read were stupid but didn't mention anyone specifically. Not defending those tweets just saying.... again the staff should run the guy until he pukes and then make him do some community service in the area over the summer... Much more fitting and a better life lesson than sitting him out a game!

If he does, then the coaches will deal with it. Are you suggesting you or any of us should have a say in what discipline is meted out?

I have NO idea what you just said. I simply stated that IF JL decides to suspend him thats THREE times this year correct?

I'm asking if Ben (or anyone) see's a pattern here and IF they find this pattern disturbing.

As a Teammate I would be upset....as a parent I would be upset.....as a fan I'm upset.

If you aren't upset about repeated violations of team rules thats fine...I am.

I ask...when will it end.....what, if any, will be the next violation?

I trust JL is handling it. This is on TB...but sooner or later he is REALLY going to force JL's hand. I don't want it to come to that.

End of story.
