This game doesn't matter

Is that realistic to say? We weren't going to get an at-large and any dreams of such were way too unrealistic.

My point is, does losing this way help us improve as a team more than winning this game in OT?

Regardless, this is not a good basketball team right now, period.

I see where you are coming from but if this is the thought process then BU does not play another meaningful game until March 4th.

We should NEVER lose a game to a team like this at home

I agree 100% lefty.

Les definitely needs to do some soul searching real quick or it his job could be in jeapordy within the next year or two, depending on where the university feels we should be. We have great talent on this team, which Les should get all the credit in the world for. But like Ron Zook at Illinois, talent means nothing if a coaching staff can't get them to play together. That's what makes these two loses together extremely grating!

This could be the most talented team at least since 2006. What a shame if they go through their entire playing careers without an NCAA Tournament appearance and/or Valley championship!

I guess my question before the inevitable talk of "coaching changes" begins is would most Bradley fans be willing to stomach another two or three rebuilding years (including player defections, new coaching schemes, etc.) in order to bring our program back to prominence by hiring a new coach? Because that is what most likely will happen if we get rid of the present coaching staff.

Not saying what the right answer to our current slump is. Just putting this question out there for all to ponder.

I for one would hate to see BU go through rebuilding again. I think that JL needs an experienced assistant with BU ties that he will respect his opinion and not feel undermined. I know it would never happen but would love to see a Versace, Barone or CB type back on the bench. Although in life it's pleasant to work with "yes" men at your side, when the stuff hits the fan, you are generally left standing alone.

I agree with this post. The selection of the next asst. coach will be very important....and probably not very easy.

I disagree on us not being a very good basketball team. Talent wise, I think we are one of the best teams in the valley, we just dont know how to finish a game....

Agreed...what is the problem....maybe we are too comfortable at home.....

Like others have said...we seem soft and lack focus...on both ends of the court. I'm not sure what we were doing offensively in the second half....and then we just did some real dumb stuff defensively toward the end of the game.
Some of the blame goes to the players and some to JL......

I would hope Les would not have so much of an ego that he would refuse someone who could help guide him when trouble arises. I don't believe Les is that type of person, but I don't see that type of assistant being hired anytime soon either. I would think that Les should know by now that a good coach should play the percentages and go with what worked earlier in the game. If Bradley is to be a player in the Valley race this season hopefully that's exactly what he does the rest of the way.

The second half LU extended their D & challenged BU to beat them going to the basket or with their bigs. To a certain extent I think they exposed BU's biggest weakness. Maybe they should un-redshirt more than just JE!!

I think that JL is too much of a tactician and gets to a point sometimes where he don't see the forest for the trees - I hope he looks at the game tape over & over tonight to see his mistakes rather than finding players to beat over the head because when the same thing happens over and over again (losing double digit leads), at some point you have to look in the mirror before pointing the finger elsewhere.

And with guys like TB, CR and AW we should be able to get to the basket...it just didn't happen

Do we ever try and post up with TB? I guess in my old age I don't remember. He does fairly well with the ball in his hands and shooting off the dribble. Tonight he took a few shots but he didn't look like he was into the game

TB came out favoring either his left hand, left shoulder or a rib after a tumble early in the 1st half and talked with a trainer. In went MK and began to light it up & TB immediately went back down the bench & made himself available. I think he may have been playing hurt.

I think a lot of his trouble tonight was he ran into a good coached team that had a plan to take him out of the game:!: He better fine other ways to get his game going because he will be seeing more from future teams of what this team did to him tonight:!:
