The only ones who wanted Dick V. gone were the backers of the previous coach....
As history repeats itself... it seems many who want Les gone were backers of Mo.

IMO, the fans who left early were leaving because they thought the game was won, or should have been won. Don't think too many were expecting a half court winner.
Shame on these people who left early last night according to several reports! These people are not real fans. Either they were psychic knowing that we would lose in the last second on a fluky play, or they were just there to be seen!
I always go to Carver Arena to be seen, but I'm four popped-collars cool.

This team is a TOP 3 Valley team and will finish in the TOP 3.

Would you like to place a wager on that?
The only ones who wanted Dick V. gone were the backers of the previous coach. Dick's only bad year, record wise, was his first year.

There seems to be a misconception here that permeates these discussions regarding being a real fan or not. Kool Aid drinkers are "real fans". Fans who are not very happy with direction of this program are also "real fans." I'll go out on a limb here and say that we ALL want this program to win. We ALL want to us to return to the NCAA tourney in March. We ALL want to win our home games against the likes of Loyola.
Just because some "real fans" want more from and for the program does not necessarily make them less a fan than the "real fans" who currently see nothing wrong with where we are at. Don't we all wear the same colors here?
Just don't come to the next game! That way I will have the best seats in the house. Hell, don't come at all for the rest of the year. Donate your tickets to charity, that will show Dr. Cross that you guys mean business alright! I guess I was just as upset last night after the game, but we are 5-4, lost twice at home, but it's a long season, and we BEAT ILLINOIS! This team is a TOP 3 Valley team and will finish in the TOP 3. I don't understand how people are talking right now about a 7th or 8th place finish. Right now we are the 1st place team in the Valley, and will be until a VALLEY team beats us! Thanks in advance for the GREAT SEATS at the next game!GO BU!
Ok, let me set the record straight there...
I for one couldn't stand Mo...
I like Les as an individual, but he just isn't taking the program where it should be headed at this point...
After 7 years, we should've had at least 1 championship given our current talent...
He has brought in much more talent than Mo, but with less overall results.
Yes, we may have beaten Illinois, and most will use that as a crutch all year, but not I. I expect more from this talented group and we're just not getting it.
Into Year 8, you have to start wondering after different groups of players if they aren't the problem, but the staff is.
I have not read one post that says someone is jumping ship! However, I have read posts that reflect the appropriate frustration and disappointment. Who said that they were jumping ship? No one!
J.L. would have had titles if P.O.B. had stayed 4 years.
J.L. would of had titles if we hadn't had all the recent injuries.
Well I hope that was the case. However there were posters here who said some were leaving just before the end of the game, which was really perplexing in my opinion.
One thing to keep in mind, a lot of people watch the final minute or so from the concourse and the entrances to the lower bowl. So even if it looks like people are leaving, they might just be moving to nearer the exit.
Would you like to place a wager on that?

I guess to retort this. When there is an ENTIRE thread entitled "Time to find a new sport to watch", to me, that is jumping ship. I understand the frustration and disappointment but I will not stop going to games nor will I rip a coach, nor will I rip a player, nor will I compare past coaches to previous coaches or even rip previous coaches. 5-4 is not a good record! I will concede that, but things have been turned around before and as I look at the roster, I do not see an empty cupboard. There is a TON of talent on this team and I can assure you that Jim Les knows this!
