Stream of Stephan Gabriel's game Monday - NTSI vs. DME Sports Academy post-grad (LINK

Game gets started at about 7:30 on the video (the first 7:30 is warmups)
Stephan Gabriel is #22 in dark red.
He wears a white sleeve on his left arm.
At 8:03 he wins the opening tip easily - a few seconds later he gets the first rebound of the game and he plays point guard - making an inside pass that is lost out of bounds (but appeared to be a good pass).

He plays the first 11 minutes and leaves the game with 12 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asst, 1 steal and 1 TO and NTSI ahead 28-21.
http://dmesportsacademy.com/live/

a second group of players then play the next 7:15 and Gabriel re-enters with 2:45 left in the 1st half.
Stephan misses a long shot at the halftime buzzer and his halftime stats are: 12 pts, 6 rebs, 3 asst, 2 steals, 1 TO
NTSI leads at half 61-44

NTSI subs liberally in the 2nd half but Gabriel plays the first 7-8 minutes then the final 8 minutes.
But DME gets hot late in the game and sneaks away with a 104-101 win -
I had SG for 14 pts, 12 rebs, 4 asst, 3 steals, 1 block, 2 TO

NTSI plays in a Tourney at IMG this weekend Feb. 22-24.

Rienk Mast does not play again until March 2.

And despite losing their District Championship game, Memphis East is still eligible for their State playoffs as the #2 seed out of their District,
so they begin play Saturday Feb. 23 at 7pm against Memphis Ridgeway - http://tssaasports.com/event/bracket.cfm?id=20180211

Memphis East wins 79-46 in their first State playoff game - they advance to play Germantown (TN) Houston HS at 6 pm Tuesday
James Wiseman had 25 pts, 12 rebs.

Finland's National Team loses to Russia and falls just short of qualifying for the FIBA World Cup later this summer (Ville DNP)
http://www.fiba.basketball/en/basket...come-to-an-end

The Dutch team also failed to qualify - losing to Poland 85-76 but Rienk Mast was one of their bright spots - playing AGAINST top pros
that are as much as 15-18 YEARS older than he is (the Polish team is almost entirely 29-35 year old veterans!)
- he played 26 minutes, scored 9 points & grabbed 5 rebounds
He was 3-4 on 2-pt attempts & 1-3 on 3-pt attempts

Antonio Thomas & Memphis East play tonight at 7:45pm in their 2nd round game in the TSSAA State Playoffs - http://tssaasports.com/event/bracket.cfm?id=20180211

Jamir Price &Rock Island play vs. East Moline at 7:45pm Wednesday at the Pekin HS Regional - then if advance, play again 7pm Friday

Stephan Gabriel and his NTSI team just competed in a big national tourney in Florida at IMG Academy.
On Saturday, they faced the strong post-grad team from IMG and won. I don't know the final score but here is a complete video of the game right up to the 2 minute mark, then the video cuts out with NTSI winning 81-70
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT0UyWTMLxA
Stephan Gabriel plays pretty much the entire game - he wears #22 in red & has a white sleeve on his left arm.
There were two other games they played this past weekend but they appear to have held SG out as they must have been playing teams that did not have post-grad players.
Gabriel is athletic, plays decent defense, strong rebounder - altho nobody plays great defense in these prep tourneys - and he has good mobility getting to the rim. He does not have a great outside shot altho he's not bad - possibly could develop into a good shooter with range.

Memphis East wins & advances in the TSSAA State Playoffs 59-44 after leading 21-1 after the 1st quarter
They play Whitehaven on Friday 7pm.

Despite playing without 2 of their key players, Memphis East won tonight over Whitehaven HS to win their Tennessee Class 8A Regional Championship. 5-Star recruit James Wiseman was named the Tournament MVP, and Antonio Thomas had a great game, and was named to the All Tournament team. He played tremendous defense against Whitehaven's best player (the top player in Memphis' 2020 class, 4-star recruit Matthew Murrell), and held him to just 6 points, way below his average of 21 ppg.
Their next game is the Substate game on Monday at 7 pm at Memphis East HS against Bolton HS. If they win that game, they move on to the state finals.
