Updates on Bradley's Class of 2019 recruits

HBA-Marsky opens their 2nd round playoff series today vs. LoKoKo Bisons - who have two guys our staff would be quite familiar with...

-their leading scorer is Marcus White, who is from Milwaukee Vincent HS and jumped right to playing pro ball in Finland after starring at Salt Lake City CC (juco)
He averages 22.9 ppg and 8.4 rpg.

-then they also have Alex Foster, who played at Bradley from 2015-17 - and he averages 15.7 ppg and 11.3 rpg for LoKoKo

HBA-Marsky will need to find a way to contain these two guys
Game starts at 11:30am Central

HBA-Marsky lost their first game of the series - semi-final series vs. LoKoKo

HBA-Marsky 85 - LoKoKo 88
Ville's shooting was off - he scored only 3 pts and didn't make a 3-pointer but he had 6 assists to 2 turnovers and a couple rebounds
Utah commit Mikael Jantunen had 25 pts, 8 reb and for LoKoKo- Alex Foster had 13 pts, 10 reb - both below his averages.
HBA-Marsky got more points off turnovers (24-8 ) and more on fast breaks (27-14) and more off the bench (25-5)

Next game April 5 - https://www.basket.fi/basket/sarjat/...ason_id=103771

Live streaming of Rienk Mast's game going on right now
https://www.newheroesbasketball.com/livestream/

very low halftime score -
Donar Groningen (Mast's team) 26 - Den Bosch 28

Mast is #15 in white

My observations so far...

-Rienk Mast is very active, mobile and athletic - he starts & plays a lot of minutes at the top pro level in Holland

-he's slender so he gets pushed around a bit but he's very good at getting position, grabs rebounds, sets screens and can score but it's obvious with all the older guys on the team that he does not take a lot of shots and sets up other guys.

-the Dutch style is fast paced - lots of quick passes then often they settle for a bad 25 foot jump shots

-if you look at the stats - Rienk Mast is one of the better shooters (based on shooting pct) so probably he ought to shoot more.
Mast hits 41% from 3-pt which is 2nd best on the entire team but he only attempts about 2 3-pointers per game - way fewer than half the number attempted by a few others on the team.

-the picked a fat old guy out of the crowd to try a half court shot for a free big screen TV, and he shot the ball backwards over his head and almost made it!

unfortunately HBA-Marsky goes down 0 games to 2
today's final score - LoKoKo 83 - HBA-Marsky 68 - one more loss in the series and they will be eliminated

Rienk Mast had a good game today but Donar lost to Zwolle 101-96
he hit 4-5 from 3-pt range and finished with 15 pts, 6 rebounds in just 21 minutes
,,he is hitting 44.4% from the arc in the Dutch pro league

HBA-MARSKY loses so their season is apparently over - altho Ville may play in some other competition like what I list above for Rienk Mast

Ville Tahvanainen's stat line in the loss-
14 points, 5 rebs, 3 asst - he was tied for team lead in scoring

Ex-Brave Alex Foster had 21 pts, 11 rebs - LoKoKo went most of the game wit just their 5 starters and got zero points off the bench
Their 5 starters are all veteran professionals who are 22, 23, 23, 24, and 24 years old - their top sub is 26 years old
..and as I noted virtually all the players on HBA-Marsky are 17-18 years old

In two weeks - Rienk Mast and his local (Groningen) U 20 team will play in a National Tournament
The HNBT (Holland Nordic Basketball Tournament) - https://www.basketball.nl/nbb-organi...itie-van-hnbt-
He will have to work the games around his other team (the pro team from Groningen) and is said to have to miss one of the U20 games because of a conflict,
but the HBNT website shows Rienk as one of their young big name stars

Donar Beats ZZ Leiden 85-82
Rienk Mast started, played 22 minutes and had a very good game against the top team in the league (who came into the game at 26-2)

Mast hit 8-11 including 2-3 from beyond the arc
he had 18 pts, 8 rebs, 2 asst

they play the same 1st place team again next Tuesday

Rienk Mast does not turn 18 until July 19, 2019 (DOB- July 19, 2001) - he is still as young as a lot of the 2020 players
Ville Tahvanainen's birthdate is June 30, 2000
Antonio Thomas - 2/09/2001
JaMir Price - 2/16/2001

Mention of Antonio Thomas playing this week in a Memphis high school All Star game
https://247sports.com/college/memphi...out-131113523/

Antonio Thomas- Throughout his senior season, Thomas ran the point guard for the best team in the city –
Memphis East. Although he is not an offensive juggernaut, Thomas is a great floor general who seems to
always find his way to the basket.

Thomas did a great job in his lone season at East of running the offense, and he meshed well with
Memphis signees James Wiseman and Malcolm Dandridge. Thomas is committed to Bradley.

Rienk Mast had an awesome game today - but unfortunately his team took a loss
Final score ZZ Leiden 81 - Donar 76 - Leiden is the top team in the league, currently in 1st place with a record of 28-3,
but Donar proved they can play with them...

Mast went 8-13, including 3-5 from 3-pt, finishing with a team high and game high 19 points, 6 reb, 1 asst, 1 block
