Curious, what happens to all the players that didnt get picked up before the portal closes. Can schools still make offers for them? Or are the S@&t out of luck?
Decision coming soon...The National Association of Basketball Coaches wants the NCAA to hurry up and make some kind of decision regarding the "5 years of eligibility in 5 years" proposal. Their biggest concern is that in the midst of a recruiting cycle, coaches need to know which players qualify for an extra year of eligibility so they don't use up all their scholarships and have players suddenly coming back who don't have scholarships.
It would be awful if they started it immediately, but lawsuits will begin regardless.everyone is admitting it would be total chaos if 1000 players who believe their eligibility is over
(guys like AJ Smith, Alec Huibregtse, Meta, etc..)
suddenly became available to seek one more year and grab more NIL... the bidding wars would be insane and the teams
(like Bradley) who have already filled most or all their scholarships would be slighted....so I'm thinking it wouldn't kick in until 2027.
