What If...

Here's a thought that I have seen happen before....

Don't let them in the locker room...

Understanding that we have double digit halftime leads all the time, tell them that simply isn't good enough and that they need to play BETTER in the 2nd half...

Tom Richardson tried that at ISU a few years back and it didn't work too well. I'm not saying I am opposed to it though...

The Braves go out and win at MSU and UNI, how will your perception of this team change?

I was thinking about this today, and realized my perception would change pretty dramatically. Right now, I think of them as a 6 or 7 seed for St Louis. If they win these two games, I could see them finishing in the top three.

I was going to start a similar threat myself. I would be happy with a split, frankly. But having said that, let's not forget that we still have two games with Evansville and one with Drake left on the schedule. Not to mention two games against an underachieving Creighton team. So, if we can steal a couple of improbably road wins in Springfield, Cedar Falls, Normal, etc., we're gonna be right in the thick of things in spite of our miserable home record.

Of course, same thing could be said for about 4 other teams!

Yeah, but its a much different set of circumstances when you're losing as opposed to us winning by double digits and tanking in the 2nd half...

Richardson did it because he was fed up of the losing and laziness by his players...and like i said, losing...

There is a big difference there...

And yes, Izzo has also done it before...and I have seen football teams do it as well, Illinois just this year did it.

Didn't help:)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Izzo at mich. st. try that also a few years back?

That's an idea. I like that!

But regarding the subject of this thread, of course my perception would change big time. Heck, even one road win would be great. I would say tomorrow would be the more winnable of the next two, but wherever we get the one would be good. I would still like to see us start closing out games at home before I get really excited.

I think we showed last year we have more talent than MSU to win and enough talent to beat UNI as well. Two road wins would not surprise me at all. I'm sure I'd be happy with a split if we played competitively.
