I sense the sentiment among fans after the dominating win over Drake (for the second time this season) is a bit brighter than it was a week ago after the home loss to UIC. UIC has positioned themselves as a legitimate contender in the MVC (tied with Bradley and Murray State for 2nd place-
Standings).
Belmont now has a 2 game lead over the three 2nd place teams and 2 1/2 games over Illinois State. But Belmont has arguably the toughest road schedule remaining, though their home schedule looks like the easiest among the top teams. And the case can be made that Bradley's road schedule is possibly the least challenging, though Bradley might have the toughest remaining home schedule among the top 5 teams.
Belmont has road games at UIC, Bradley, Illinois State and Murray State. Their remaining home games look more likely like wins (Drake, UNI, Indiana State & Evansville).
Murray State has road games at SIU, Indiana State, Illinois State and Bradley and home games against UIC, UNI, Belmont, and Evansville.
