Da Coach said:Even Jim Les' most ardent critics have conceded that he has become an excellent coach (just check their message boards- they suddenly have a lot of respect for JL as a coach and recruiter). Lowery and Hinson, and Altman are very good coaches and have done a great job this year. But their teams were picked to finish in the top 3 or 4 of the league this year. Bradley was picked 8th, and has a shot at 3rd place.
Here was the preseason poll--

Hey, I like my Kool-Aide. Preferably with a jigger or two of vodka.
Really, as everyone else and their moms who vote for JL will state, he's done a lot in a year where he was supposed to do nothing, and his recruiting is top notch. Couple that with the emotion and energy he seems to bring to his players, and you've got COY.

But Lowery returned his whole starting lineup, and 90% of his scoring and rebounding from last year, and his team was a popular pick to win the conference. But Bradley is one of the teams that beat them, and I think Jim Les outcoached CL in that game.
BU by contrast was picked 8th or 9th and can finish 3rd or 4th.
I think JL has done the best coaching job in the Valley and deserves the COY, but I am not holding my breath.
