Da Coach is slacking! j/k ... Where's the sticky? :-D

I'll do what I can to help ...

Wichita State is 7-6 overall, 0-2 in conference.

The Shockers have lost four of their last six games, three of those games being at home.

They are coached by Gregg Marshall, who is in his first season in Wichita, after replacing Mark Turgeon. Marshall coached nine years at Winthrop before coming to coach the Shockers this season.

They have three guys averaging in double figures: PJ Cousinard, Phillip Thomasson and Matt Braeuer.

Braeuer (concussion), as well as forward Ramon Clemente (broken finger), missed their last game.

The Shockers have lost four of their last six games, three of those games being at home.

Brauer is likely out of this one with a concussion, and Wichita will be missing their top rebounder as well due to injury. There's no excuse not to win this one convincingly.

Ramon Clemente, WSU's leading rebounder, has an injury to his small finger on his non-shooting hand. He might play. Brauer had a concussion, and could be cleared to play, but it is still in doubt because it is his 3rd or 4th concussion.

Wichita is 0-2, as is Bradley. However, the Shockers have lost 2 home games to Drake and ISU. They also have some other bad losses to Monmouth and Baylor in the Paradise Jam Tournament in St. Thomas, at UNKC, and at home to Texas-Arlington, Drake and ISU.

The Shockers were not depleted when Gregg Marshall took over for Mark Turgeon. But a couple of their players left, including Sean Ogirri. Their fans appear to be giving Marshall some slack, though unlike all the other new coaches in the MVC, he did not take over for a coach who was fired for underperforming. He took over a fairly healthy program with a long winning tradition, when Turgeon was hired by Texas A&M.

I wouldn"t be surprised if Brauer plays as his injury was listed as a day to day before the Isu game; we need to score 70 or more points as Wichita St. has had trouble scoring over 60 points in a game; will Egolf or Collins see any minutes in this game as Austin and Singh have taken away their time on the floor.

Hey guys! The one thing this team WILL do every game is defense and rebounding. Don't expect this to be high scoring or a blowout. This team will remind you of SIU in terms of limiting possessions...etc. I would be surprised if this game is over 65 points by either team. With that said Shox can't put the ball in the hoop guarded or unguarded right now so I don't expect a win.

But I definately don't expect more than a single digit loss just because the defense and limiting possessions will keep them in it. One way the Shox get their opponents to use the shot clock is by switching defenses...so expect to see some of that to slow the game down to a crawl also. Loss of Brauer is big but I wouldn't be surprised to see Clemente get limited minutes possibly. Don't expect Brauer to play, it's at least his 4th concussion over the span of about 3 years so I would personally be surprised if he played again at all just due to the risks of further injury.

Also, some on the Shockernet said they have spoke with Ramon and he is going to try and play some tomorrow. His ex-ray picture is posted in this thread...pretty crazy to try and come back so soon. But since it's his pinky on his off-hand not impossible to think. Gonna be hard to go aggressive with both hands for rebounds though:

Thanks Shockerfan13.

Good luck to you and your team throughout the season.

I GUARANTEE we win this one.

Lets not gurantee to much LOL. This team goes from one extreme to another every game. A 9 point half 2 games ago to being outrebounded by almost 20 and giving up 91 points last game. I'm scared to see what tonight brings LOL. It "should" be a win but Tuesday at SIU will be a true test on if this team is back on track after tonight.

I'm interested to see how the Carver floor handles tonight. Temps projected to be in the mid 40's and misty most of the day. Floor crew has done a good job the last few games with mopping up while play is at the opposite end of the floor.

Dave Reynolds reports that Matt Braeuer is definitely out for tonight's game, but he reports that Wichita coach Gregg Marshall said Friday there's an "outside chance Clemente could play tonight".

I have heard rumors that the coaches have considered a different starting lineup for tonight's game.

I had three concussions in 4 years and hvaaae ha.li...reutut....no probl.....hut hut...(*%$ and I tink it woo rivrt and from time to tiller to not....what was da question?

Seriously.....I wish Brauer nothing but the best. IF its the doctors advice he avoid contact sports I hope he does. Its tough to stop playing the sport you love but his long term health is MUCH more importaint.

Good luck Matt.........
