This game started slow, but then Bradley ran out to a huge first half lead and dominated the rest of the way.

This game could have been an even bigger blowout, but Bradley had deep reserves in the game for the last 10 minutes of the second half, while SIU was still playing with some starters. It was a dominating defensive effort.
Only 1 BU player played more than 19 minutes (Jenny Van Kirk played 25 min), while a couple of SIU starters played 37 and 38 minutes.
Attendance was 1,043.

the game was on PBS. I watched the whole first half. Our women's team handed them their butts. All I have to say is WOW. The best part is alot of that team's leading scorers are freshman and sophomores.

Two more 3's for Michelle Lund as she adds to the freshman record! :D

Michelle looked great! What a valuable player to have. She is quick, and a great ballhandler and passer, beside being a great shooter. She played just 16 minutes in the blowout, and still was the game's leader with 4 assists.
The future looks bright with her having 3 more years to play.

And I have seen Brooke Bisping (2009 recruit) from Morton play, and her game is similar to Michelle's. I think this team will only get better oiver the next few years.

Has Bradley's patience with Paula B paid off? This was one sorry program, but in year 8 looks like both the men and women have bright futures. And the new digs next season can only help recruiting, right?

I confess to know very little about the women's program except I wasn't interested because it appeared the AD wasn't either.

From those in the know . . . what has changed? Real interested in this story.

It takes longer to build a successful women's program, especiallly at a small, private school like Bradley that has no prior history of sustained success, and with the paltry facitilies they had.
The AD could see that Paula was a good coach, did things right, graduated her players, and was well respected. It frustrated everyone that she couldn't win, but that was clearly due to a relative lack of talent. Now the talent is coming, and the program is poised for long term success. Changing coaches would have only stunted that development, and I am glad he AD recognized that.
