Agree Dogs, I don't really know or care to know all of the goings ons at BU. When new leadership comes in, they often replace people with others who fit the direction they want to go in. KK did this with some people when he took over and I am sure will do it at his new job.
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Isn't it "her" University now....and by hers I mean she's responsible for what happens under her watch.

And isn't it her "right" and "duty" to have people in place that reflect her beliefs, style and approach to all things BU?

Again NOT saying I agree with how she's running things....truth be told I have NO idea but there are mechanisms in place that will or should not let her run the place into the ground.

So she's making some changes....no great surprises at least to me.

Laymans terms....new bosses come into places all the time and changes are inevitable.

Perhaps I'm being to simplistic but is all this drama really necassary...I guess it is to some people. Not being critical of others I just don't get it.
I think this is necessary DRU and I will tell you why. There are a lot of Bradley grads here (myself included) and a lot of Bradley fans on this forum. We have seen Bradley rise from the ashes of the Albeck era with a solid platform put in place on campus and in the Athletic department. All this while graduating students and athletes with a degree that is well respected around the country. I have come to care very passionately about Bradley. What I am afraid we are seeing is the start of destruction of this foundation that is currently in place. and it is a good foundation... This is not Glasser's university, it is our University. Glasser is supposed to be the caretaker in charge. I am considered a rebel somtimes, but if I see something that I know is wrong, I QUESTION AUTHORITY to make sure things are right. I am doing so now! With the links mentioned above, we know JG's track record which makes me want to question authority even more!

I think the "Rules for Posting" need to be changed. It is no longer a regulation against Anti-BU posts, rather we have moved to a regulation against anti-Athletic Department posts. Anti-BU/President is apparently okay.

I would have assumed that a lot of people (no matter where your bias may be) would KNOW that there are always two sides to a story. EVERY story.

Don't get me wrong, I think KK did a great job and I think the way it ended is a bit weird, too. But all of this JG-slamming is starting to run a bit high. Unless you really know both sides, we are just as guilty as anyone else...

I actually don't see a lot of JG slamming, but I do see some quesitoning...
but I agree, much of this discussion should be moved to private messages and sites and we really don't need all the dirty laundry hanging out in the open.

If the wheel isnt broke why try and fix it?

Was this wheel broken? Or is this a simple matter of I dont like this person and his personality so I am making a change, essentially proving she is in charge everywhere. Kinda like a dog marking its spot, so to speak.

Bottom line it is the Peoria Media's respondsiblity to get to the bottom of this situation and give the public as much truthful information as possible. There are a lot of unanswered questions.

It is the media's responsibility to get to the bottom of this? How so? Bradley is a private institution and if they don't want it out- the local media can do what they want- but BU doesn't have to play along.

While this may have been handled in a PR fashion that wasn't thoroughly thought out- BU has the right to hire and fire who they wish... I also agree that it seems some potshots have been taken at the administration that would not be allowed if they were directed at athletics- but again- that is the owners and moderators choice- so leave it alone..

If people don't like what happened- tell somebody who can do something about it!

I hardly think the "foundation is crumbling" statements are anything more than Chicken Little-ish. Let's wait and see what comes of this- lament KK's leaving, but let's not jump to conclusions!
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

You are correct, BU does not have to play along. But the media has a responsibility to cover whats going on if it is deemed newsworthy. Private or not, the media can try to cover BU. How does the media cover any story regarding a private company? If BU does not play along, it reflects negatively and that is something that BU for sure does not want.

I think President Glasser had an absolute right to make a change. I also think things need done appropriately.

I also think KK had the same right to go out and get another job which works for both parties. I hope he does great there.

Having this occur during an MVC event is not the way to have had this transpire.

Furthermore, the rumors of the petty squabbles, are just so Bradley like its amazing.

As one guy said to me today. If there was an empty field with one cowpie, BU would step in it.

I think if people want to continue to be supporters and backers of Bradley they deserve some factual answers. Alot of the people who are fans are now learning about what is happening at Bradley. Many posters on here know alot of the facts and behind the scene happenings. I think it helps those of us who don't know the right people, don't run in the same groups, or don't live in the area.
I think it is fair to question what type of leader are we supporting. I have not seen her get slammed. When people get the info/answers they may chose not to support her or BU again. Bradley just lost a good guy. They may also lose some long time boosters or fans because of her actions. Unintended consequences.

No one has to "play along" when it comes to information. But, the media has a respondsiblity to ask questions and have non complete questions answered.

You are correct BU has the right to do as it pleases, but so does everyone else including the Media. That means they need to contact x AD's who served under Glasser, they need to get, even those who want to be anonomous on the record, they need to get to the bottom and give everyone answers to many open questions.

And without any answers or questions being asked then it is impossible to not jump to any conclusions.

Look bottom line is if BU and Glasser would have handled this situaition with even a hint of class, none of this or very little of this would be part of the discussion. But since it was handled the way it has been handled, ie unprofessionally, the questions must be answered and asked.

I do not have direct access to any media in Peoria other then in email and have sent emails to several Journal Star writers to see if they intent to ask questions. Not sure who else I could ask.

My biggest concern is Glasser went through multipule numbers of AD's while at EKU and she is repeating history right now, I think JL is exactly the person we need to run BU's men's basketball team and when she was at EKU she essentially ran off a very popular coach in Travis Ford. I just am having a difficult time seeing her not doing the samething here.

and if there's a story that casts BU in even a mildly negative light, there are a handful of posters who come out of retirement just to pile on

                            Folks,

Good bad or indifferent, I for one don't know what the Board of Trustees wanted her to bring to the table.

Give her credit for being decisive. I know for one that I said, you don't become a president at a university as a female w/o being willing to cut someones privates off. Shes made it very clear she will

And she also likes to hire baseball coaches

What I am most amazed by is how these are grown up human beings, all of very high intelligence and education---yet they act like 3rd graders with these silly personal squabbles, personal offensives, etc.

No one comes out looking good in the end. Regardless of how people feel let's let bygones be bygones. Burning bridges has never helped anyone.
