I find this thread rather amusing. To think that BU basketball fans would be concerned about a team from the Southern Conference at home. (If this team was on ISU's schedule someone would be making fun of ISU for scheduling). This shows just how far the program has come, huh? Unbelievable. Do you think an SIU team of a couple years ago (which is where we should be as a team by now) would have left any doubt about a home win against a team from a low-major conference? Is this all the further BU has come in the last several years?
One more thing, there are people on this board that constantly act as though BU and the MVC don't get respect and should be considered better than "mid-majors". If that is the case, this is a cupcake game and we should win by 20. If we are just a regular "mid-major" (which we are IMO), yes this is a game to worry about. Can't have it both ways. Think about it.
Basically I am still peeved about Dodie's injury and our inexplicable injury luck going back to '97, so I am having a hard time looking at anything positively right now regarding this season.
Yes...the crowd...another Sunday pumped up, screaming, raucous, wild and crazy, jam packed, all in red, never sit down the entire game...what......6000-6500.
Sunday games......a JOKE. But I understand becuase we got those REEEEEEEALl good refs that can't do Weds. nite or Sat. nite games.
Gimmeeee a break......
Sorry...I know Sundays are terrible, I hate em too but are crowds are getting worse before they are getting better. With all apologies to those that DO go and make some nosie.....
Dog I agree Thank god we don't live in some parts of the South,"below the Mason Dixon Line", where Sunday's are Dry Or maybe there would be 600-650 Was that a soda in your hand
The crowds will keep dwindling until we give them something to go out and see. It's a tough economy right now, and an awful home non-conference slate and a middle-of-the-pack team isn't going to inspire the casual fan to go out. Us hardcore folks will be there come h-ll or high water, but the casual fan with the family is what sells the place out. Sunday evening games only make that worse, as those are usually reserved for unwinding before starting the work week.
Ok, there's my rant on the schedule with an added jab about finishing in the middle since 2001. I'll stop now. Basically I am still peeved about Dodie's injury and our inexplicable injury luck going back to '97, so I am having a hard time looking at anything positively right now regarding this season. Please do not use me as a barometer! Stay positive!
Ya, before the game I was thinking, I sould be praying for forgiveness for sins of some on here But then the game started, and the way it started my thoughts said the hell with the siner's, better pray for BU
OOB I never took you as the alter boy type! Pray for me because lord knows I have sinned or thinking of it!
I have a LONG, LONG LIST I think it would be best if you shared them with your girlfriend Trust me, you really don't want me praying for you Alter Boy, Alter Boy, Oh Lord,
And what would have prompted this curse? The rash of injuries started 5 years before JL got here and affected Mo's teams nearly as much as JL's.
You're right BB, the curse is not JL's fault....and I never said it was by the way ....rather it must be a BU MBB curse!
I prefer to think of BU's continued rash of players injuries as a 'curse', which supposedly could be lifted, vs 'Bad Luck' which has no rhyme or reason and could continue indefinitely............
Before anyone else gets real tight britches over this, I'm not real serious about this, it is fun to ponder a curse vs stewing over continued BU player injuries....
Perhaps it started when Quick Change started performing at the PCC....No matter how many times I have see it, the QC act is still black magic! Perhaps the advent of the frisbee chasing dog acts!

Actually... I think this shows Bradley fans to be knowledgeable and respectful of all teams no matter what conference they are in. It shows we are not Ignorant and/nor Arrogant.
I believe if Wofford shows up on ISU's shedule, some (Tornado) might make fun of it but others would point out how good Wofford could actually be.

Oh Ya, Quick Change I have been thinking in other terms than Black Magic Everytime I see it I wonder if that cover ever comes down before she is changed Will I get lucky and this will this be the night

I've constantly argued with you that BU will be good 'this' year and there is the potential for the future, etc. I'm starting to understand your frustration. I'll give the current 'direction' until the end of next season, AW's, SM's, and DD's senior years. If we don't finish top 3 and make it to the finals, or win wither the regular season or tourney by then I may have to join many others here.
I do not have a problem with who JL plays, the 4-guard is often out of necessity, and not because JL 'Loves' 4 guards on the floor. I've talked basketball with him, he was an MVC POY, and NBA'er, the guy knows basketball, he KNOWS you need height to win, but when that height lags far behind in ability, his hands are tied. I also think JL can recruit, I (and I'm know verifiable expert) can see the potential in the big men. The gap is coaching and development.
GTD makes a great point, that we as BU fans, should not EVER be afraid of a team like Wofford. I really like JL and his swagger, and the off-the-court experience he brings to BU basketball (being an alumnus, truly believing in 'Once a Brave, Always a Brave') buys him extra time and consideration in my book - but if we have not progressed by the end of next year...
I sincerely hope my worries are for nothing and I'm an over-reacting fan not taking into consideration the fact we're without our 'best' big man - who I often make fun of - but BU HAS taken a step forward with JL, at least excitement-wise, now we need to take that next step.
GO BRRRRAAAAADDDDDDDDLLLLLLLEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
Ampkill - Great post! I'm also trying not to get to ahead of myself. There is also another area JL is excelling and I consider this right up there with winning is the type of citizens he is turning out with this program. Just taking a look at the graduation rate tells you something about JL the person.
