I agree completely, part of the off-the-court experience JL brings and why I am willing to give him a little more leash as fan.

We think a lot alike Pete and amckillip.

I like what Bradley stands for and I think a majority of our posters and Bradley fans do as well. Unfortunately, there will always be those who who are insecure and who crave the limelight that the KU's, MU's, UL's, and KU's of the world get. Integrity be d@mned.

No way! If the Wofford game was on ISU's home schedule it would be a marquee game, and would be considered a "quality opponent".

Not a single non-conference team that ISU actually scheduled at home this year had a winning record last year, or an RPI under 200.(I am excluding their BracketBuster return game which they were forced to play, and was not scheduled by ISU).
Wofford was above .500 last year with an RPI of 172
Here are the schools that ISU scheduled at home this season (excluding the BB return game).
Not a single one had a winning record last year, and their RPIs from last year are ridiculously high:
        North Florida- RPI 326
        Norfolk State- RPI 290
        SEMO- RPI 339
        St. Bonaventure- RPI 201
        Central MIchigan- RPI 297
        Grambling- RPI 340

If they could have scheduled Wofford, it would be the gem of their home nonconference schedule.

Why do some posters always fall into a "this" or "that" argument with BU athletics, particularly the MBB program?

Why can't BU fans strive for integrity/graduation success AND success on the court - even if the success is only in the MVC.

These are NOT mutually exclusive outcomes.

I guess I will have to do some research on Butler, Creighton, Gonzaga, Dayton, Duke, BYU, Notre Dame, St Mary's, Boston College etc to understand how bad/embarrassing/criminal their programs are

Some of us dumb, insecure, non groduats, actually like to back a winner or a top performer, and don't live in a world of "it is what it is and nothing can change", "just competing is good enough", "woe is us", "winners always cheat"....UN-AMERICAN!!!!

I thought that is why so many people love JL, he promised fans both a program to be proud of AND success!

Set your sights higher and you may just be able to achieve them!

I had mentioned this the day we learned we would be playing Wofford:

The Terriers are sort of a poor man's Oakland. They have size, and know how to use it. Dahlman plays similarly to Theron Wilson but maybe not as athletic. Proficient at drawing fouls.

They play a style that we don't do well against.

Oakland destroyed us in every way last year, except free throws and one particular shot.

So we'll be playing 4 guards for sure. Make them match up with us, right?

I have to disagree here. Last year when Oakland played us, they used 7 players

Jones 5'11", Kangas 6'3", Kushingberry 6'4", Maynard 6'7", Hudson 6'9", Waterstradt 6'10", and Benson 6'11". That is definitely a tall team and they did know how to use their size.

The tallest player that Wofford plays is Godzinski... a 6'8" guard. They generally use a rotation of 2 forwards, and a lot of time utilize a 4-guard set. Their two forwards are Dahlman and Johnson, and both are roughly 6'6". Besides Godzinski, most of their guards are around 6'1ish.

                      I don't see the comparison.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

He DID say "poor mans"...they couldn't afford milk and didn't grow as tall as the Oakland kids did.

Agreed! That is typical of the teams in this league. We should be able to match up well with our smaller lineup since I believe we have both better athletes and basketball players than Wofford at that height and position.

If we try to play our unathletic bigs we will probably suffer the same fate as Pitt (almost) and Georgia. Small ball will win this game (and I know OoB and the "big" boys aren't gonna like it)

Well, that's what I was thinking... Squirrel did say "poor mans". I didn't bother looking up roster sizes, but bugregshu did... which made me ponder what the heck Squirrel is getting at... So I ask. Wofford plays a solid inside game (tho maybe lacking adequate size to do so)? --- and/or --- Wofford is a great fundamental team that knows how to box-out no matter how short they are against their opponent?

Both don't sound good to me.

They play 2 maybe 3 guards 6'2 or shorter. Everyone else of concern that will play will be strong, athletic guys 6'5-6'8 (they'll have maybe 5-6 that size that will play). . .they may lack a true center, but they have strong forwards, a couple big guards, and are fundamentally sound, love to crash the boards, and thrive on defense.

I'm not necessarily saying they are big. . .they do have more size than a lot of teams we will see. . .simply pointing out they will be a very similar team to Oakland that we'll need to matchup against. Their forwards are better at interior play than ours. I'm not saying that willy-nilly. I watched Wofford play several times last year and every time, they reminded me of Oakland. Oakland is built like a BCS team. Wofford obviously isn't, hence the "Poor man" comment.
