We think a lot alike Pete and amckillip, but to the average "townie" fan that never went to Bradley they could care less about graduation rates. Most would have a hard time even spelling "graduation". Bradley is THEIR pro team and all they care about is W's...... probably at any cost.
I like what Bradley stands for and I think a majority of our posters and Bradley fans do as well. Unfortunately, there will always be those who who are insecure and who crave the limelight that the KU's, MU's, UL's, and KU's of the world get. Integrity be d@mned.
Wow B4L This is very strong, disrespectfull and so wrong I am very surprised and disappointed that something like this would come from you I did not know BU Fans were divided/classified into two groups Most of these townie fans, that I prefer to call local fans (friends) support and root for BU the best they can. Most have families that have been BU Fans through generations, way before you and I were! Local Fans are hard working people of the community with some working or have had family members that have worked at BU. Most fans would of loved to have had their son or daughter go to BU, get a great education and obtain a degree! But for reasons could not. Most fans take their money and families to BU BB games to have fun and root for their team. Thats right, their team because these local fans consider BU as much of a part of them as anyone attending or graduated from BU! I moved to P Town about 25 years ago. One of the first things I learned and saw was you had to be a BU Fan, WIN or LOSE What % of fans at any home game do you think are non BU grads? What % of fans at any home game live here and either attended BU or Graduated from there? I love BU BB, I respect the people who live here and I respect the people who are living here for 4 years while attending BU

Big deal, you probably graduated, did I spell it right?, from BU and good for you, but you are right the Braves are OUR team, win or lose. You're probably too young to remember the Fieldhouse days, but many of the fans that attended games there are still attending games at Carver and the kids who were growing up watching the Braves are still making their way downtown. We remember the glory days when we were on par with the KU's of college basketball. Those days are gone, but win or lose the loyal fans of Bradley basketball are not.
I've constantly argued with you that BU will be good 'this' year and there is the potential for the future, etc. I'm starting to understand your frustration. I'll give the current 'direction' until the end of next season, AW's, SM's, and DD's senior years. If we don't finish top 3 and make it to the finals, or win wither the regular season or tourney by then I may have to join many others here.
I do not have a problem with who JL plays, the 4-guard is often out of necessity, and not because JL 'Loves' 4 guards on the floor. I've talked basketball with him, he was an MVC POY, and NBA'er, the guy knows basketball, he KNOWS you need height to win, but when that height lags far behind in ability, his hands are tied. I also think JL can recruit, I (and I'm know verifiable expert) can see the potential in the big men. The gap is coaching and development.
GTD makes a great point, that we as BU fans, should not EVER be afraid of a team like Wofford. I really like JL and his swagger, and the off-the-court experience he brings to BU basketball (being an alumnus, truly believing in 'Once a Brave, Always a Brave') buys him extra time and consideration in my book - but if we have not progressed by the end of next year...
I sincerely hope my worries are for nothing and I'm an over-reacting fan not taking into consideration the fact we're without our 'best' big man - who I often make fun of - but BU HAS taken a step forward with JL, at least excitement-wise, now we need to take that next step.
GO BRRRRAAAAADDDDDDDDLLLLLLLEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
No way! If the Wofford game was on ISU's home schedule it would be a marquee game, and would be considered a "quality opponent".
Not a single non-conference team that ISU actually scheduled at home this year had a winning record last year, or an RPI under 200.(I am excluding their BracketBuster return game which they were forced to play, and was not scheduled by ISU).
Wofford was above .500 last year with an RPI of 172
Here are the schools that ISU scheduled at home this season (excluding the BB return game).
Not a single one had a winning record last year, and their RPIs from last year are ridiculously high:
North Florida- RPI 326
Norfolk State- RPI 290
SEMO- RPI 339
St. Bonaventure- RPI 201
Central MIchigan- RPI 297
Grambling- RPI 340
If they could have scheduled Wofford, it would be the gem of their home nonconference schedule.
Now that's funny, but correct. Even though Wofford had a terrible RPI of 172 last year, they would be the best team on ISU's schedule... Albeit still a low-major in a bad conference.
Fun little discussion... huh? All this just for Wofford. Wait until the conference season starts. I am going to assume Braves4Life did not mean to include me as a part of what he called "townies". Whoever these people are, and if they exist in the manner you speak, these people pay for their tickets, buy expensive refreshments and help pay for the athletic budget. Don't forget that. There are all types of fans, and if someone is a fan who spends time watching games and using their hard earned dollars to attend, they are intitled to an opinion of the team and the coaches. Without the entire group of fans who come for whatever reason, BU basketball would be nothing. I come to watch the male cheerleaders of course...
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

I have edited my post on this subject. I am sorry to have offended so many great posters on this board with my thoughtless, insensitive and hurtful comments. I guess I just got caught up in the heat of the moment; I sometimes take my Bradley basketball way too seriously.
I'm a townie and a grad...so I guess I should be doubly offended, but I'm not...
I don't see a thing wrong with what's been said...
too many people going out of their way to find something to be offended by.
BTW with tonight's win over a non-midmajor team, Wofford has MORE wins over non-midmajors than ISU will end up with ALL SEASON LONG - GUARANTEED!!
(because ISU doesn't play even one.)
There's a big difference between showing respect for a non-conference opponent and actively worrying it's a game we're destined to lose. We are a big favorite to beat Wofford, but they are very good. There's nothing wrong with thinking that
Wofford beat Georgia, but frankly, we could beat Georgia on the road too. A lot of teams could this year.
Wofford is good enough to beat us if we bring our D game.
play anything like we did last sunday, and guarantee, Wofford will thump us. I would hope having a week to prepare would give us no excuses for this game

I think the quick turnaround from Friday to Sunday, long distance travel, playing at altitude in Utah, etc. played a part in Bradley's performance last Sunday. I expect a better effort this weekend against Wofford with a week to prepare and playing in front of the home fans!

Please accept my heartfelt apologies.
There is nothing to gain by dwelling on this anymore We all say and do things we don't mean and regret Everyone knows you are one of the good guys Your apology is good enough here, Friend

Now that we made up and kisses and everything let's go out there and start bashing ISU (red) now!
B4L I have nothing against townies. While doing my 4 years in P-town there were a few quality women that made my life a bit better.
