He got some local talent this season, but they are still freshmen.
 
he took seven years before he had his first season above .500, now we're right back battling for last place again...
I don't have any issue whether he recruits locally or Texas & Florida... but what the he** is the standard here??
Now that Wichita is gone, he's the highest paid baseball coach in the MVC and in nine seasons all he has to show for it is seven LAST or next to LAST place finishes and two 4th place finishes.
We had a basketball coach who had four consecutive 22 & 21 game seasons, four consecutive post-season appearances, and yet the local media along with a handful of w-h-i-n-e-y but non-supportive fans were beating the drum to get him fired and the admin was pleading with the Board to let her fire him.
Seems they preferred to have the 6-year stretch following that averaging 10-11 wins per season instead.

I know all that T. Just responding to the statement that their is a lot of talent in the area.
 
as usual, just read some complete ignorance elsewhere saying that BU had no other candidates back when Elvis was hired...but that is total nonsense...

two candidates were actually already scheduled to visit and interview and they included...others had been contacted...
-Mark Kingston wanted the Bradley job and was anxious to come to campus for an interview with Ken Kavanagh. He was a Tulane assistant with incredibly good recruiting connections down south where they play baseball nearly year-round and where recruiting is a gold mine.
But again, the door was slammed on him - and he then took the ISU job and coached against Bradley - making mincemeat of Elvis while he was in the MVC.
In Mark Kingston's five years at ISU - he WON THE MVC COACH OF THE YEAR TWICE, averaging 35 wins per season, then getting hired away to the BIG EAST CONFERENCE/American Athletic Conference.
Oh, and they won 41 games this year!!!!!
(Elvis has averaged 24 wins/yr here)

-Rick Heller, who wanted the Bradley job desperately as he knew UNI was talking about dropping baseball.
Then when Heller did not get hired by Bradley, he stayed one more season at UNI until they cancelled their baseball program then Indiana State hired him in a heartbeat - and guess what...
Heller became incredibly successful at Indiana State, was the MVC Coach of the Year in 2012, and then got hired away to University of Iowa where he's been amazingly successful ever since....
The Hawkeyes just won the Big Ten Baseball Tournament and are having a fine run in the NCAA as we speak.
Rick Heller has won CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS and gone to the NCAA everywhere he's coached - and he could have coached here had Joanne not stepped in and slammed the door on him and brought in her buddy ED.

Tauchman got into the game as a pinch hitter in the top of the 12th inning, swung at the first pitch and grounded out to second.

After going 0-1 in his only plate appearance last night as a pinch hitter, former Bradley star Mike Tauchman got the starting assignment today in right field in his 2nd game since being called up by the Colorado Rockies.
He walked his first 2 at-bats, then in his 3rd at-bat, he singled to center field.
The game is currently in the 7th inning with Colorado trailing 4-3.
Tauchman is officially 1-2 (.500) with an on-base percentage of .750.
He should get at least 1 more at-bat today.

Mike Tauchman was up 2nd in the Rockies 8th inning. Giants manager Bruce Bochy changed pitchers right before his at-bat and brought in a left handed reliever to face Tauchman, and he flied out to left-center field.
