Bradley completely shut out of MVC television package

Since when does a mid major basketball program that always draws over 10,000 or more fans a game need a consulting firm? Looking at the results I would have to say "you're fired."

when was the last time 10k was at a BU game? I'm going to guess at least a few years before Nelligan was hired....

Guess I worded it wrong. I meant used to draw 10,000. Nelligan probably was hired to renew fan interest and if so is doing a poor job.

-seven times in 2008-2009 (almost half the home MVC games)
-eight times in 2007-2008
-nine times in 2006-2007

I think the point others are making is that we are now 7 months into a NEW agreement with Nelligan on marketing BU sports - and yet people notice serious problems - no TV, reduced media presence, season ticket screw-ups, dramatically reduced crowds..and yet the explanation offered is ....
"well it took some time to get the people hired and on the job"

Don't you see the reason people are asking - nobody's alleging fault or incompetence - just this....
it's like giving your money to an investment broker and then finding out seven months later that
he still has it in his pocket and hasn't even put it in the bank yet..

Well since they are not in charge of ticket sales I don't think they were hired for attendance. They were hired to bring in revenue...the transition has been a challenge but that doesn't mean it won't be for the best in the long run..

And for the record I don't have an opinion one way or the other but they do know what they are doing and have been pretty successful at other places.

.. they do know what they are doing and have been pretty successful at other places.

and that indeed may be - and there have been numerous reports of Nelligan "brokering" good TV packages for schools - but then that all the more begs the question that if they can do it for them why not here?

we've been through this already....

Goes hand in hand. You don't have to in charge of ticket sales to help attendance.

Two different things.....Bradley handles ticket sales.......Nelligan doesn't

The confusion is that Nelligan and ticket sales are often mentioned together....

Here's Dave Reynolds...
"The new packages are a result of a renewed approach toward boosting ticket sales by Bradley athletics,
aided by its recent partnership with Nelligan Sports Marketing."

http://www.pjstar.com/x1155165815/Reynolds-Bradley-offers-new-ticket-packages

Here's another example...
"NSM's (Nelligan's) expertise will be used to increase market exposure for Texas State Athletics. Initiatives utilized will include securing additional valuable media to help grow the University's visibility and promote ticket sales .."

Also - as of just a week ago - Bradley was listing a job opening for someone in group ticket sales...maybe they have someone by now...

Missouri State is getting their games on TV in St. Louis and a very wide area!!!
they are well over 200 miles from St. Louis - likely most people in St. Louis don't even know where MSU is!
They're way farther than we are from Chicago or St. Louis.
Has anyone heard about anything yet regarding the BU TV package?

"Nelligan Sports is the official marketing agency of Missouri State University Athletics and oversees its radio, television and marketing rights."

get the names of their guys and give 'em a call....we already have one of the Missouri State guys working for us.
