BU schedule

I'm not so sure why everyone is so riled up. Shockerfan13 said it perfectly. This benefits the team more than any stupid D2 or D3 exhibition game could. This is competition against a D1 opponent (albeit DePaul but still) and could really help the team progress. And why is everyone making such a big deal about the "closed door" thing. It isn't like JL agreed to it being closed door because depaul was "ashamed" to be playing us and didn't want anyone on the "outside" to know the result. It's a standard NCAA RULE that a scrimmage like that is closed to the public..it's not like JL had to agree to that and jump through that hoop to get a scrimmage against depaul...that is a MUST when it comes to scrimmages. It has nothing to do with depaul "belittling" themselves to play us. Get over it...we are playing a D1 school in the preseason this is good news. It's not like the exhibition games are that exciting anyway. Either we kill them or everyone gets worked up because we lose to them haha.

This is good all around.

Oh Ya, play the $ card, I thought you would go there DC:lol: You mean to tell me BU went into this 2 years of construction not knowing they may have to break even or take a hit on the exhibition games. To bad in all the years BU profited from the exhibition games at the field house that they might have to give back a little to the fans. I'm sure BU wouldn't bellie up from what little lost that would occure:!: After all it's the royal fans that help build and support BU programs and helping pay for the new facilities:!:
Cheap A__:lol:
JK

OOB you are getting a little out of control here! With the economy the way it is and I'm sure our overall endowment has taken a hit, a bit of prudence is not such a bad thing. Who really cares if they get to go to an exhibition game or not and make such a big deal. Our out of conference home schedule is another matter. There I can see you becoming bleeping mad.;-)

It could be worse though! Besides, two of those games are simply because we have the opportunity to play a couple of potential top 25 teams in Vegas. Another one of the home games is the BB return game from last year. We have actually only scheduled two (with a possible third) home games. Both of those teams are better than all SIX home games that isu scheduled for themselves! So yes, it could definitely be much worse! Next thing you know, people will complain about Bradley playing on Sunday.

Out of control, I don't think so:? I said how I feel and gave my opinions. I have badgered no one:!: I think the exhibition games are good things no matter who we play as long as they are not run aways. And even run aways you get to see the younger players and guys who will not see much action play. As for DePaul and all the hip over scrummaging a Div 1 team, I can name 10 teams in the MVC I know are better than them:!:
You living in the land of hills and trolley cars and not being able to see exhibition games is understandable but us people in P Town hate losing any game that we can't see the Braves play:!::lol: Playing behind closed doors is nothing to DePaul because it is no different than any home game with their LOW FAN FOLLOWING:eek::p

Take a look at Xavier's schedule and TV time this year. I think this is where all of us would like BU to be someday...

Yea, no kidding. Everyone wants to cite Butler or Gonzaga as the team to aspire to be.

Since 2000...

Xavier has compiled an 11-8 NCAA record with 2 Elite 8's and a Sweet 16.

Gonzaga has an 11-10 record with 3 Sweet 16's.

Butler has a 6-6 record with 2 Sweet 16's.

I'm a Muskie Fan. :-P ;)

Is it just me, or do the Braves usually play more MVC-TV and ESPN games on the road?

I agree... Not sure why, but GD it... why does it seem we end up on tv ON THE ROAD more times than at home?

(Maybe the Civic Center is outdated and can't accommodate as well as elsewhere? Maybe it is better for viewers to see Bradley on the road? I have NO idea.)

Maybe they are worried that putting a home game on TV will hurt ticket sales. If it's on the road people may get mad that they can't see all the games in Peoria. This way they can see the home games by going and see the away games via TV.

I'd believe that BU has little to do with this. I'm sure JL and company would not care if it hurt ticket sales a bit for some national exposure at home. I'd bet that a national televised game would hurt ticket sales if anything it may increase it. I would bet it has to do with the outdated equipment at Carver. I know they said that they would be replacing some of it but I'll believe it when I see a much better video quality coming from there.
