BU vs. SIU-E for MVC soccer championship- BU wins on PKs!

we are dancing. Off the cross bar!!

Gotta feel bad for SIU-E losing the game like that.....well maybe not really, but you know what I mean! :D But I think they probably will earn an at-large bid themselves along with Creighton for a three bid league. Not bad! Hopefully this will rub off on the Valley in men's basketball this year too.

Heck of a game, played 1 man down for about 30 minutes and made some great saves during penalty kicks. The SIUE starting goalie certainly looked well enough to come back in and I think the SIUE coach will regret that decision. Either way, great job guys. Should be great momentum for next season and hopefully a good run in the Tourney.

4:10 remianing. BU down to ten players due to red card.

BU player going for high ball. Kicks high ball. Then kicks SIUE goalie in face. Goal was out near edge of plenaty kick box.

What a great game and congrats Braves...

that red card was bogus -- it was a bad play on Gaul's part but not deserving of a red card..there was absolutely NO QUESTION that there was no intent to injure nor malicious play -- just good aggressive soccer...
Glad BU pulled it out -- as it reminded me of 2002 when BU had the lead over #2 ranked (nationally) SWMS and the refs stole the game from Bradley with repeated cards and ejections

BU's goalie is not that bad of a player... ;)

Agreed. Pretty hard to have malicious intent when he hit the ball first...

Yeah and the referee was going to let the play continue on after the goalie made the save. Then when the goalie stayed down he whistled it dead, and broke up the skirmish between the players. He then turned to Gaul and showed the red.

I just can't believe you as a ref make that decision 84 minutes in unless you are positive its purposeful..

But I dont know soccer rules all that well
