Macari Brooks to Bradley?

all of them went on to further careers - Brown did well as a Globetrotter - but I could even add Chris Roberts to that list..
CRob was brought in because of his tremendous raw athleticism - and he wasn't even all that good of a scorer in HS or juco - but if you start with that kind of raw talent - it can be worked into something of benefit..

BTW - must-see...
a few awesome dunks by Macari Brooks (at 50 sec)
but also note some pretty impressive dunks from (5-10) Jahii Carson, Dantiel Daniels, Jamie Crockett, and other familiar names

One last thought - Geno had said each of the last two years that he wanted to hold at least one scholarship 'til spring when lots more talented players either look to transfer or emerge from the juco ranks....
so I will predict that he knows something here - and that even tho we are using what appears to be our last open ride - that we will have something in the spring.

Macari Brooks played only 10 games last year in juco at Blinn, and has played ten games this year - so his career stats in juco (post-high school) are as follows...

20 games, FG shooting 164-279 (58.8%), 3-pt shooting 100-290 (34.5%), FT% 49-66 (74.2%), rebounds 109 (5.45 rpg)
His high FG% is a result of speed and athleticism that allows him to get to the hoop a lot -
kinda of what Walt & Rayvonte Rice can do...
His 3-pt shooting...he was at 30.8% (4-13) last season, and so far this year is at 37.5% (doesn't shoot many- 6-16 so far on the season, 0-6 in his last 4 games).

Macari Brooks will be visiting Bradley the weekend of December 13-14. I suspect that is when we might hear more about him committing to BU.

In Monday's game Macari was 6-11 14 pts, 7 rebs, 2 stl as the starters rested quite a bit in a blowout win 110-66 that was a 27 point lead at half.

So what's the deal with Brooks......is he gonna be a Brave or what....seems pretty quite for a guy that's already tweeted he's gonna play for Geno Ford?

he can't sign a LOI - too late - so it is possible that nobody at BU will be able to comment on him until he does sign papers - but that might not happen until he can graduate and submit & apply to BU next summer...

plus there's just possibly a chance that GF wants to NOT announce filling the "final scholarship" so he has a little more clout with opportunities to recruit this spring should a transfer (Nate Taphorn?), a blue chipper (Josh Cunningham), or late bloomer open up -

Is Taphorn looking to transfer? He is getting pretty solid minutes for a freshman at a B1G school...

There is a little work to be done yet

Academic work? This is his 3rd year of college. He spent a 2 months at DePaul (Aug-Oct, 2011), then the rest of the 2011-2012 academic year at Indian Hills CC, then the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons at Blinn. If he doesn't have enough credits to get an associate degree by the end of this year, someone isn't giving him good advice.

It has been over a week since Macari Brooks visited Bradley, and 3 weeks since Macari Brooks tweeted that he had committed to Bradley, which was then touted on several recruiting sites.
But unlike with every verbal commitment we have ever had in the past, we have seen no article from the PJ Star, and we have had no confirmation from Bradley. In fact, even Macari Brooks stopped tweeting and deleted his Twitter account.
I have tried to get some information from Bradley insiders, but all they will say is there is no official commitment to report.
Does anyone else find this strange? And just as strange, after reporting about him verbally committing, the PJ Star writers seem to have imposed a gag order on any further information about it.
Has Macari Brooks committed to Bradley of not? Does he get the last available scholarship for 2014?
