Race Kowalczyk scores .....
They will find out their tournament seeding and bracket on Sunday.
The brackets are drawn
Race Kowalczyk's Toledo St John's Jesuit (17-5 & #2 seed) compete's in Division II of OHSAA (their equivalent of IHSA) (they have seven divisions)

Here is their district bracket - they play March 4 at 6pm local time (5pm CST) vs #7 seed Ashland HS (13-8, in Ashland, OH), a school
with an enrollment of around 900 (roughly equal to Metamora or Morton)

Their first game will be played at Toledo Central Catholic HS. If St John's wins, they advance to play their District Championship
March 7 at 7pm (6pm CST) vs the winner of #3 seed Toledo St. Francis (13-9, enrollment ~700) vs #4 seed Roy Start HS of Toledo (11-8, enrollment 1100)
St John's split two games during the regular season vs St. Francis, and won their only game vs Start HS by 23 pts.

If they win District they then advance to Regionals Mar. 14 (likely face #1 seed Lima HS, 18-3, enrollment 1000),
then to the State Semi's and Finals (Mar. 19-21)

********************

also the NJCAA National Rankings are out
College of Southern Idaho (Ben Thornbrue) at #3
NW Florida (Braylon Roman) at #8
Barton CC (Noah Williams) at #17
Daytona State (Noah Mendy) at #24

Ffwiw- one of the past Braves who was a guest right behind the bench at the ISU was BU great Phillip Gilbert.
He now is head coach at Madison HS and has a son who is tall for his age and reported to be quite talented (Class of 2034).
I know that's a long way off, but who knows...if he's got the bloodlines PG had...maybe we'll be offering....

One other son of a past BU great already has a BU offer - Lyris Robinson (son of Jerome Robinson) at Bella Vista Prep, Phoenix, AZ
He is ranked Top 100 Nationally -- #67 Class of 2027

Possible ? - yea, but likely - not at all....
I think we all know that big money talks and just about every talented player in the MVC if they get a big offer, is going to transfer....

BTW- Lyris Robinson is visiting Creighton this weekend

They obviously have a bigger NIL bankroll (one estimate was ~$5 mil) than Bradley does, but they also seem to have spent it somewhat unwisely.
It was reported that they gave $six figures to Mason Miller, who averaged a pitiful 1 ppg in 2024-25, then he left & transferred
to Murray State when his uncle was hired there.

With all of the Buffett millionaires in Omaha I would expect Creighton to have more than a $5M NIL basketball budget. Don't teams like Duke, Kentucky, Indiana and others have $20M+ budgets? I'd expect CU to be between $8-12M.

Buffet is not into basketball or college sports. If he was, he'd support his alma mater, U. of Nebraska. So that doesn't help them. And though Creighton does get good funding, it is not close to what the power conference football programs get.

** Bradley does not appear to have extended any new offers since Ryan Hunt a month ago...and before that it was an offer
that was actually a RE-offer to Braylon Roman back in October, 2025 - as Bradley had initially offered him in high school in 2023.

Likely our staff is already sizing up anyone who might be heading to the portal...
There are players already announcing they're heading to the portal

Are my eyes playing tricks on me when I saw the stat line for Ryan Hunt's last game where it states he had 27 rebounds. If so that is quite impressive no matter the level of competition he played against . If Bradley has not yet offered him a scholarship, then maybe they should consider doing so. Just my humble opinion.

He is one of the guys Bradley has offered...
Bradley offered on Jan 27 ---> LINK

and - btw- I had that number wrong - he actually got 29 rebounds. I watched some of the game - Hunt is kind of slow, often the last man up the court, isn't real athletic but stays om the paint & gets a ton of rebounds because at the juco level he's a good 5-6" taller than anyone else, and there's a ton of missed shots. (note that the opponents missed 50 shots!!).
But we're only 2 games form the end of his final juco season and all he has are midmajor offers - no P-5 offers, so the big boys must know his deficiencies. I would love to get him tho- there's precious few guys like this is the MVC. He's a lot like Drake's isaiah Carr - not real productive offensively, but changes lots of shots in the lane & blocks shots.

Upcoming games for all the guys we've got offers & commitments from (that we know of)
Ben Thornbrue - plays tonight, Thursday at 8pm vs Utah State-Eastern - Updated Link for live stats

So less athletic Meta?

No thanks, would rather have a 6-8 player that moves well.
with the expanded 15-man roster, maybe we can find room for a 7-0 (sometimes listed as 7-1) guy with the longest arms
I've seen in a while - a guy who can put up 25 points or 29 rebounds. Also blocks a lot of shots.
