Offers for 2026 and beyond

with the expanded 15-man roster, maybe we can find room for a 7-0 (sometimes listed as 7-1) guy with the longest arms
I've seen in a while - a guy who can put up 25 points or 29 rebounds. Also blocks a lot of shots.
If he has several offers, I doubt he will come to us to sit the bench. I am not opposed to a guy that gets those stats, but my concern is that if Meta was Low Major or Juco, he probably would have similar numbers against smaller competition.

well of course he would....
in fact when we played Evansville (a weak DI team) without their starting center (Turnbull), Meta had 15 pts, 12 reb!

This is what I have been saying, that Ryan Hunt is not real athletic, there are few Power-5 teams interested despite the numbers, and that he's a mid-major kind of guy - and he does have numerous mid-major offers... But obviously Brian Wardle sees some potential in him, because Bradley has offered.

Like I pointed out in another thread- you have to go back to Rienk Mast then way, way back to Patrick O'Bryant to find the only two
CENTERS (and really Rienk might not really be a true center- more of a PF) that have better numbers than Meta.

If you're holding out for someone better, then how long are you willing to wait?

I just checked the MVC stats - only 2 big men who are listed as centers in the entire MVC who
are averaging over 8 ppg in MVC play plus are ranked in the top 10 of rebounding (Meta is #6, the other is Fred King)

btw- updated link for live stats for College of Southern Idaho & BEN THORNBRUE, game starts in an hour- LINK

There have been a couple other pretty good centers that you didn't mention.
Will Egolf played pretty well in the center for Bradley. -
https://bradleybraves.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/will-egolf/8979
And Will averaged 10.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg his senior season (both numbers higher than Meta)

And Zach Andrews spent most of his playing time at center, especially after POB left in 2006.
He averaged 11.1 ppg and 7.0 rpg his senior year-

And please don't split hairs about them being centers. That was the position they played most of the time, Will was even listed on the Bradley roster as a Forward/Center.

nope- not centers
listed as forwards
played forward

but still digging deep fifteen years ago... kinda strongly confirms my point

of his 6 years at Bradley, Egolf only averaged over 8ppg once and only hit 5 rpg once in a year under Geno
where Jordan Prosser played center- not Egolf

and in the only year (20 yrs ago) Zach Andrews averaged more than 5 ppg, Sam Singh & Matt Salley played center

Hey- nobody more than me wants to get a center that averages 15 ppg & 10 rpg... but who's gonna come up with $1 mil NIL to get such a guy?

Bar average over 7 rebounds his senior year and helped with his defense. He and Bayo were credit by the coach for wearing out that Northern Iowa center, best player in the valley that year. he averaged over 5 rebounds for all 4 years and almost 6 points across all four years.

Will Egolf played center under Geno. He is literally listed as a F/C on his bio-

And Bradley listed him as the center on the box scores, not Jordan Prosser, who didn't play much.

And Zach Andrews was the starting center for every game in the 2006-07 season, not Sam Singh, who played very little that season and did not start a single game. And not Matt Salley either, who played forward and didn't move to the center position until the 2007-08 season after Andrews was gone.
That's not just my opinion, that is how Bradley listed Will and Zach on the box scores. But you can call them whatever you want.

why make such silly nitpicking? Either way, you're digging back >> a decade to find a guy who is truly questionably NOT a center

in 2012-13 he played largely a wing position ...
Note he took 3.5 3-point shots from the wing per game, the ONLY season in his 6 years he really ever took any at all.
Like Salley he saw himself as a wing, but was forced at times to fill in at center.
Citing one single game or two box score that lists him at center means absolutely nothing- in fact,
here's one of the next games that lists him playing GUARD!!!!!!- LINK

and another one that lists him as forward - LINK
and his profiles just as often say "power forward" as Center
again "Position: Forward"

You do not need a 7ft. center in the Valley to be successful. Mike Williams was 6-8 and Donald Reese was 6-9. I just want an athletic one that is capable of scoring, rebounding and defending. They do not need to be all americans but just capable to do all 3 things on the court . Just expect to find a quality big that can shoot at least 75% from 3ft. and closer to the basket. These projects are not leading us to championships period.

Agree with your previous post where we do not need 7'0 centers that are primarily projects. I have stated before and bears repeating that we need impactful front court players that can score at the rim, rebound, and defend. If a 7'0 player is found that can do all of the above that is great. Let us hope coach and staff will be able to identify those type of players that we so sorely need to give ourselves a better chance of conference championships and tournament titles.

So let me get this straight
You’re claiming Meta’s no good and we oughta have much better centers on this team-
And to prove it, you dig all the way back 20 yrs, find a guy who’s actually listed as a forward that maybe scored a point or two more than Meta & so it’s easy to find someone better. Hmmm

(btw- I can name three big men that Jim Les had commitments from but who were denied/vetoed/nixed by a certain administrator and
never came to Bradley. One went elsewhere and averaged 9ppg/5.4rpg, one became a starter for another MVC school &
one went elsewhere, became a stud, averaged 18ppg/8rpg, hit 45% on 3-pointers then became an 11-year NBA guy, scoring 6,637 points.,
3,385 reb)

If you are addressing me, you are wrong again. I've never said "Meta's no good" or that "we oughta have much better centers on this team".
My comments were strictly to counter your claim, "you have to go back to Rienk Mast then way, way back to Patrick O'Bryant to find the only two centers... that have better numbers than Meta...."

Bradley has had multiple centers who had decent numbers, and many of them had better career averages than the 5.5 ppg and 3.9 rpg that Meta has averaged. Zach Andrews, Will Egolf, and Even Koch Bar had better career averages.
And even on the current team, Kai Yu and Corey Thomas have better numbers on a per minute basis., when playing center.
And what the heck do some recruits that never came to Bradley 15-20 years ago have to do with this? It seems you are making the point that many others here have stated, that Meta is an underproductive big man.
Let it go.

This is my point. You don't need 7' centers in today's basketball. Walker is not 7', we would be more effective to play with strong, athletic 6'8" forwards than having a 7' clogging up the lane and not being able to guard anyone. A lot of teams play more of a 5-out style now anyway, so we need people who can defend on ball.

One of Bradley's previous offered guys has now decommitted elsewhere - so add Kahu Treacher back on the list

With Aussie Ryan Hunt committing to TCU- Kahu Treacher is the other guy from that area of the world
(New Zealand) - and most of them who come to play in the US stay out west. St. Mary's and a few other schools
out west have done very well bringing in Australian kids.

BUT - Here's an easy trivia quiz-
Name four Bradley guys who came from (born there) Australia or nearby south Pacific Islands.
(nearby - < a couple thousand miles)

Doesn't the Bradley women coach have a Recruit coming in from New Zealand
Bradley currently has Amy O'Hara from Australia

and Ashlee Monaghan from Australia is signed for next year

Is there one from New Zealand?

anyone gonna guess on the men's players from Australia and thereabouts?
