Ohio Bobcats

I did not realize they went to College Park, MD earlier this year and beat Gary Williams' Terrapins on their own floor. They seem to have played everyone tough on their schedule with the exception of Kansas.

I heard Snell say on the postgame that there were only 1100 fans at the Ohio-Brown game last night. Hopefully with the game not until Monday we can sell a few more tickets that tonight and get Carver loud.

They lost twice by double digits to Miami of Ohio. I went to the Tulsa/Miami of Ohio game tonight and the Redhawks were way overmatched. If that was any indication, Bradley should win easily Monday. Either that or Tulsa is the team to beat for sure in the CBI.

They beat New Mexico St Maryland and St Johns

BU better bring their A game for these guys.

Oh yea, they don't like Jeremy Fears.

Hey all

Hey all

Hey all

Looks like I will finally get to see Andrew at home. Followed him through AAU and High School. Have been to busy following the Bobs to take his pop up on the offer to come out and see a game. Sure nice to see him back in the line up. Pops buying the pocorn, you guys sell beer? He still owes me.:-D. This gonna be a good trip.

Looking forward to the trip from Indiana out west.

Welcome to the forum bornacatfan! Hopefully it will be an exciting game! We both hope for different outcomes, but that doesn't mean we can't be civil about it.

As for beer, you can buy it at Carver Arena, since it is off campus (Carver is owned by the City of Peoria). It is expensive (from what I've heard), though. There are also quite a few bars around Carver. Many forum members recommend Hoops for a basketball-themed environment, though I have never been there (I don't go to bars at all, mainly because I don't like the taste of alcohol. ;) ).

Hey thanks. I have never had a problem tipping a few with fellow hoopheads. Hoops sounds good, hopefully I can find a nice Micro or at least ...ummm Goose Island since we will be in IL. Games should be competitive but friendly on and off the court.

I have seen Sam a few times in AAU and Andrew is one of ours. One of my associates played baseball at Bradley while Hersey was there so we have followed you guys for the last 10 years together. Rolston.

Will probably come out Sunday evening or early Monday AM. Tickets to see Womens PU, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Oklahoma games on Sunday so may have to wait till early Monday. Really like this match up. Definitely staying over.

Ohio fan here. There are a couple of caveats that go along with the post above. Miami is a two-headed monster in Tim Pollitz and Michael Bramos. Pollitz has been slowed by a bum knee and isn't nearly as good as he normally is. And Bramos didn't play at all. So the Miami you saw tonight isn't the Miami that played Ohio (or beat Xavier, Mississippi St, Alabama St and Illinois). Bramos alone lit us up for 55 points the last two games we played them. Also the second loss to Miami was a nip and tuck game that turned into a runaway on late freethrows. It was a 2 or 3 point game with under 2 minutes to go.

Ohio has a couple of wide bodies that will give you guys problems in Leon Williams and Jerome Tillman and Bubba Walter can hit from 25 feet. But we are generally a terrible road team for some reason. Mostly because we forget about our stengths for long periods of time. I would say that you guys should be about a 6 point favorite.

Personally, even though you guys are going to be a much tougher game for us I'm glad you won. This tournament didn't need a 13-18 team advancing.

OUVan - Yeah I just read an online article about the Tulsa game locally that said Miami's best player didn't play. I guess that was a big reason they looked so bad tonight.

I'm sure other people on the forums can give better bar recommendations - actually, I have many quotes (unedited), answering the following question:

What would you say is the best sports bar in town to catch a game on TV?

Buffalo Wild Wings in East Peoria is always a good call. Plus, it's right next to a bridge that'll take you right to Carver Arena. Enjoy your trip.

I 2nd Buffalo Wild Wings. Get some good wings and watch the game for as long as you like. They won't harass you for staying and watching. They have most of the Bradley games, I would be 95% certain they would have the Drake/Butler game on. Address and link to BWW if coming from Carver Arena/Civic Center downtown...

BWW- 833 W. Camp St, East Peoria, IL.... It's only a mile and a couple turns from Carver Arena. Just beware that if your going straight to Carver after BWW, you'll have to turn right on Adams St because Jefferson is a 1 way street.

If you are looking for a place with local flavor, HOOP"S Pizza is a hole in the wall place 1 block east of the arena across from the Hotel Pere Marquette on Main St.

Great pizza and lots of Peoria and BU hoops memoabilia.

I agree. Hoop's or Sully's, close to the arena, lot's of BU flavor.

I love Hoops pre or post game or late at night, but I don't think it is really a good place to go watch a game. The tvs are an after thought in the place.

BW3 always works and even the bar area at Old Chicago has a good setup. Nikky's sports bar has some really good tvs for watching HD.

Gorman's up by Campus (In the campus town shopping center) is another good bar to hit as it has tons of Bradley stuff in there and is close to campus, and a short 5 minute trip down the hill to the arena.

Sully's downtown or Gorman's by campus are my suggestions if you're looking for some local flavor.

BW3 is fine but the one in E. Peoria is no different than any of the others all over the place.

If you want more of a true bar to hang out, there is an ex-Bradley player who owns and operates a sports bar/pub about a block or so away from the Civic Center in Peoria.
Hoops Pub & Pizza is on Main St. a block or two away.
Hope this helps, the bar is owned by Kerry Cook, a player from Bradley's Versace era.

Don't go to Gormans unless you want to watch an entire game and maybe get two drinks total. Service is aweful unless you know someone around there. I think they hate money.

I'd hit up Bdubs or Sully's. If you need a place to hang your head after a tough loss go back to Sully's or head to Crusen's, Cam's, or Jimmy's on Farmington Road up by BU's campus.

I know that's a lot of information, but I hope it helps! :)

Ahh. Ohio U. One of the best kept secret college towns in America. Impossible to get to but what a wonderful, wonderful place.

Athens is great. What is it OU fans--like 31 bars on that one street? Great campus. Fun place. Heck, I kinda wish the game were at OU. That would be worth the trip back to Athens :)

If you want a Goose Island head over to Old Chicago in the downtown area just short of the riverfront...

They can meet all your beer beverage needs

Awesome information.

Will have to file this away for future trips to see Andrew and maybe catch up to some of the HS ball out there I have missed in the past at Richwoods and area schools..

May end up with BW 3 as that has seemed to be the penchant of several of our Bobcat followers. If not I will certainly print info to take along.

Just take a moment here to comment

Asa long time lurker and avowed basketball junkie I am going to give you guys a big thumbs up . This board is always pretty positive and supportive of players, each other and coaches....not that y'all don't call em out but there has been a pretty stable and generally positive tenor in the 2 years I have been lurking around.

Hope to catch up to some of you on Monday.

Court Street Shuffle

Court Street Shuffle

I'm thinkin more like 20 bars on 1 stretch of Court Street. Students do this thing called the COURT STREET SHUFFLE, You buy a Shuffle T-shirt it has all the Bars Names on Court Street on it. You start on either end of Court Street. You go in each bar drink 1 drink and move on, Before you move on you have the Bartender sign your T-Shirt with a magic marker to prove you we're there and drank, then you move on to the next bar. When your done you'll be hammered and have alot of Bartenders Autograph's, not sure how many students have made it to the end but i know alot of them have tried. :p GO BOBCATS !!!!!

Gman, I think it sounds like you know a little more about this than you're admitting to!:D
