PJ Star article- Taylor Brown

Most of us are guys and understand what happens when you are young and dumb and full of raging testosterone.

Yes, one understand that most of you are driven by testosterone.

We would wish however that you would think with your brains and realize that physical violence solves nothing and only creates more violence.

you have a strange way of defending your statements by defending something totally different and unrelated.

You were the one who twice said TB was in the wrong by being at Macy's and "staring at the guy"

you said it in this post-
"If you worked at a public place like Macy's and..someone.... came into your place of work to stare at you
... that could be considered stalking or threatening.."

http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=139880#post139880

and again in this post-
"...that TB was at this guys place of work (Macy's) and... the police were called.."
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=139858#post139858

then your explanation of why you think that was wrong on TB's part is to say...
"The other guy had every right to be at his job didn't he? "

of course....but Taylor Brown has every legal right to be at Macy's and to stare at anything he wants...
in fact I suspect Macy's loves to have people come in and stare....so how in creation can that be construed as illegal or threatening...
sounds a little bit babyish on the part of the accuser...a little paranoid...maybe even a little bit made-up and exaggerated.

personally I think the degree to which these allegations appear to have been inflated and exaggerated....and yet still sound pretty paltry and weak...make me, again, think there's an agenda.

T, you have my post and others mixed up. Only one of those quotes are mine. Anyway, I don't think Macy's thinks it's appropriate for a customer to stare at an employee to intimdate him. If TB actually did go to Macy's and do this, in that respect he was wrong.

I think I would rather have a little misdemeanor battery over a minor disagreement than have a whole team of thugs that have a complete disregard for the public and the way they drive.

Jason

I find it amazing that you call a team "thugs" because of TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, regardless of how many, but are defending battery charges! You cannot be serious can you?

BTW- unless you are talking about someone other then Osiris... all of his traffic tickets were speeding, seat belts, and operating and uninsured motor vehicle.... so he didn't have his insurance card with him... If he truly didn't have insurance, they he would have had his license suspended... but clearly did not or he would have been ticketed/arrested for that during his last stop...

I am not lawyer but none of those are misdemeanor's...

Hey there I've seen women create their own form of violence on each other so let's spread the love around a bit. We have testosterone. What's with women clawing into each other?

Hey TB I'm glad you are at BU and there are plenty of fans on this site that have your back! The other guys can kiss my .......

Gotta love how this thread regarding a negative... therefore maybe "the worst" in Bradley or "the worst" by Bradley or "the worst" Bradley recently represents brings out THE BEST posters in this forum.

LOL!

this is not true...
several are "Ordinance Violations" which are underage drinking, public drunkenness, even battery and other such tickets..
even pot & other drug possession cases fall under this category......
At least two of the violations by the "star player" mentioned are such ordinance violations.
...these are not all just traffic tickets...some are quite serious - serious enough that some newspapers make huge deals that last weeks about it.

Here are some representative Ordinance Violations direct from the McLean Co. web site...

SEC. 17.1-1 Gambling $100.00

SEC. 17.1-19 Assault $150.00

Under Eighteen Years of Age
(Amended 2/3/97 by Ord. No. 4439) $150.00
$ 50.00
SEC. 17.1-22 Criminal Damage to Property $150.00
SEC. 17.1-23 Criminal Trespass to Land (Added 9/20/93) $100.00
SEC. 17.1-24 Resisting or Delaying an Officer $150.00
SEC. 17.1-25 Assisting Escape $150.00

And several at SIU were underage drinking where the player continued to play every game, even the one within hours after his court appearance.

BTW- a misdemeanor battery charge that required a $100 bail be posted...
Even if you shoplift a 25 cent pack of gum from WalMart, you'd have to post a bigger bail...
so someone sure must have thought this was pretty minor and that TB was NOT a threat to anyone.

You know thats completely true, but come on lets go back to when we both were 21. Some guy is pushing you constantly, showing up and essentially taunting you continually, then you end up near each other and I am sure words are said, regardless of your stature or status there is a limit. And personally, I think Brown did show restraint by only splitting the guys lip. Very few men would just take it and take it and not respond.

And in the culture of college athletics, being a man and peer pressure no man especially an athlete is going to allow himself to be disrespected infront of others. Yes in a perfect Leave it to Beaver world everyone walks away but in the real world, well most men, do not walk away from confrontation. And again if you are an athlete you do not allow someone to show you up infront of anyone.

After reading your last 2 posts it appears you know what is at the root of all this nonsense and the other guy was the instigator. Tell us more.

Looks like McLean County disagrees.......

Disposition Information
Case Number 2007TR017750 for OSIRIS ELDRIDGE, born on June 18, 1988

Sep 24, 2007 UNLAWFUL DISPLAY TITLE/CERTIFICATE/PLATES-1ST Criminal Misdemeanor Guilty Plea

Total Assessed Amount:$425.00 Total Amount Paid: $425.00

I'm sure this was reported on the front page of the B/N newspaper!

.... In fact the whole team has about 20 tickets in the last 2 years. ...

first....I don't mind an occasional reference to another team for comparison sake, but that's not the intended topic here...

but second....jason, you are way, way underrepresenting the court visits for the ISU players.
It's way more than 20 over a couple year span...that span has at least a couple DUI's, at least one underage drinking, and a couple caught driving without valid licenses..
but-- using the public access, you can find that THIRTEEN different members of their roster have TWENTY ONE different court dates

----JUST between the middle of August, '09 and the end of October, '09!!!!!
Seriously, 20+ court dates in a 2 month present span....
and this isn't going back more than a couple weeks.....

8/13
8/19
8/24
8/26
8/26
8/31
9/01
9/09
9/09
9/19
9/23
9/23
9/25
9/30
9/30
9/30
10/1
10/05
10/13
10/26
10/26

plus there's also one set out in November '09 for a guy who now lives out of town...and a couple who are now under failure to appear summonses...

and BTW-- from their own website, the county says most of the ordinance violations are alcohol related offenses.

Why is it always a comparison of school vs. school and violations vs. violations?

So since other schools are historically worse the BU in these off the court issues... its ok? Why can't the topic of conversation revolve around the incident at hand? I guess I just don't get it?

2 things:

No one said it was ok.....

No one said it was ok.....

wait that was one thing....maybe its the anti BU folks throwin in our face anytime something like this happens..even though it happens everywhere...and most places are worse??? again....

No one said it was ok.....some seem to try and justify it....but ok?

I wonder how we can really have any conversation when only the un-named guys side is stated......

Were not saying it's ok what Taylor did, just saying that this whole thing/thread is blown way out of proportion for a little punch. I'm sure the victim instigated it a little bit, Taylor could of easily done this at the soccer game if he intentionally wanted to "batter" him. Taylor gets blasted on front page news while the same paper and ISU's hometown paper didn't even bother posting 1 story for a team with 20 court dates this past month. Along with several DUI's and drinking offenses in the last 2 years. It's not ok to commit a crime but you have to contain it to what it is, not blow it way out of proportion.
