PJ Star article- Taylor Brown

Were not saying it's ok what Taylor did, just saying that this whole thing/thread is blown way out of proportion for a little punch. I'm sure the victim instigated it a little bit, Taylor could of easily done this at the soccer game if he intentionally wanted to "batter" him. Taylor gets blasted on front page news while the same paper and ISU's hometown paper didn't even bother posting 1 story for a team with 20 court dates this past month. Along with several DUI's and drinking offenses in the last 2 years. It's not ok to commit a crime but you have to contain it to what it is, not blow it way out of proportion.

Jason

Not saying he isn't, because like the rest of us we don't know beans about what all took place, but why are you so sure the "other guy" was the instigator? Is it because TB is a Bradley player and we all love our Braves and they can do no wrong?

...they can do no wrong?

yup...they can do no wrong
BTW-- I saw Sam M, Sam S, Will E, and AW at the soccer game tonight...as I said hi to them I realized between the four of them
they share two foot operations, three knee operations, a couple shoulder operations, and a broken hand or two...
What a tough bunch, but none were wearing braces or using crutches..so that was a good sign!

After reading your last 2 posts it appears you know what is at the root of all this nonsense and the other guy was the instigator. Tell us more.

You know Chico I never said I knew anything about what happened. But, I do know that when guys are 21 sometimes guys get real sensitive about things... woman and or being disrespected infront of their peers among others. I have no idea who started what or why someone thinks its ok to go to someones place of employment or that by showing up at a campus that one does not attend will make any situation between 2 21 year olds better.

But I can guarantee you that if someone is going to try and show up a man infront of his peers he is going to take action. Was Brown wrong to not walk away, yes, was the other guy wrong for showing up and continuing to aggitate Brown... in my opinion yes. I know he has all the rights in the world to be where is wants to be, but often when you go looking for a problem you will find one.

I do not again know anything about Brown or what happened, but I can guarantee you that when a guy disrespects another guy, especially infront of his peers that guy who does the disrespecting is going to have an issue. Everything is my two cents but it also comes from reality and remembering what life was like at 21 and playing a sport... you never ever let someone show you up. But that was 20 years ago, today when someone does that and gets what likely is coming to them the police get called, welcome to PC 2009.

If you don't anythng about what happened, how can you say the "other guy" was agitating TB. He has every right to go to his job and to a soccer game that's open to the public. Let's just hope TB learns from this and has continuing success on the Hilltop.

Why is it always a comparison of school vs. school and violations vs. violations?

So since other schools are historically worse the BU in these off the court issues... its ok? Why can't the topic of conversation revolve around the incident at hand? I guess I just don't get it?

It's a matter of coverage for me.....I'm curious.....did the B/N newspaper put king o's misdemeanor on the front page? And yes, it was a misdemeanor as clearly stated on the McLean County website!

It is my opinion that the "other guy" by showing up at activities he knew Brown would be at was agitating Brown. If Brown showed up a Macys and looked menacingly at the "other guy" then that is equally agitating.

I am guessing but it appears that both men tried to get into each others heads at one time or another.

I am done with this, Brown is getting racked over the coals for something nearly ever single man whoever was in their 20's has done, gotten into a fight. 9 pages of he is wrong he is right whatever. The whole entire episode is blown out of proportion because it is Peoria. If this happens at the University of Oklahoma its delt with internally and forgotten about but because it is Peoria and the PC police are always out in force it is a major deal.

The whole thing was one huge much to do about nothing.

Could not have said it better. Chico in your days how would have your peers handled this? I bet it would have been a non-issue.

First of all I'm always glad when the police are out in force. Of course if people acted civilized they wouldn't be needed would they. As for in my day, and still is, if someone calls the police they respond and have to make out a report. It would be a non-issue if Bradley basketball wasn't the biggest and best show in Peoria. That's what upsets me when a player doesn't realize that. I'm with you guys, this thread is too long about something that shouldn't have happened. GO BRAVES.

probably not related to any incident at BU..

near riot breaks out at ICC
..and about 1:30AM..."a fight broke out (at ICC housing unit) and some part of it moved to a parking area across the street from the housing units."
..it involved..."hundreds of students and non-students."

seems it was the ICC vs. non-ICC crowd who had a 1-2AM feud....and now there are reports that "gunfire" was heard......

At least 4 people are under arrest and one person may have been hit by a car....

Report from WEEK says 200 people were involved and calls it a "riot" requiring East Peoria police plus.."six other area police agenices for back-up."
(some of the reader comments are interesting..)

Well, I don't know if it's any connection but their was a dude arrested at the fight that had a robbery warrant from Atlanta, GA. Brown is from Dunwoody which is just outside of ATL but I highly doubt these incidents are related. This party was getting rather large so the Commons Resident Director called EP PD to disperse the party & that they might be smokin pot. The fight & shots fired started while they were enroute. A majority of the 300 people were just arguing but a few were physically fighting and 1 girl was ran over by a car. 2 transported to hospital, 1 arrested and that's about it.

That's about it? Can you imagine if this happened on Bradley's campus and involved any athletes whatsoever? I certainly hope the PJS gets to the bottom of this and names any ICC athletes that may have been involved!

When something of a far less serious nature occurred (an off campus party with no violence whatsoever) the paper sought to name every single one of the over 40 athletes who was involved.....didn't see that in this story's reports..

I'm sure when the reports come they will find some of these guys played biddy basketball and then there name will come out:roll:

LOL sorry, just got back from Chicago yesterday and was used to Chicago crime, which the ICC incident is miniscule compared to Chicago lol. Had 4 shootings with 6 victims in 1 hour within a 1 mile radius at one point Saturday evening. 2 of them killed in addition to 2 or 3 other homicides elr in the day.

May gave been miniscule compared to Chicago, but no reason for this to happen. Looks like the gangs are trying to ruin East Peoria now. Too bad. I imagine some will say, as usual, that the police over reacted. But as I said earlier I'm glad they are around.
