This bracket got procedured into oblivion, so some seeds may look kooky.

Break it down!
Big East 9
ACC 7
Big 12 7
Big 10 5
SEC 5
MWC 4
A-10 3
WCC 2

the Illini are not getting in and neither is loser of ND/UCONN. RPI for Illini at 72 and not going to improve despite playing OH st and WI(likely two losses) Just too many L's for illini

TAS great work as always.

Personally Florida has to win Saturday, I really think Wake and MSU have work to do and so does Utah State.

My thought on ND is if they can split this week and get one in the Big East tourney they get a bid.

Illinois better not lose this week or in the first round of the Big Ten tourney.

Would be shocked if Purdue hangs on and gets a 2 seed. I think they will be punished because of the injury to Hummel. I just get the feeling the NCAA will not be kind to the Big Ten. Wisconsin at 5 is overvalued but you are right about where they will land.

I think a Wisconin within the top 17-21 teams in the country goes to exactly how weak college basketball overall this season really is.

I want to know what prompted UNI to go to 9. He still had them at 7 mid-week after Evansville. Who knew ISU was such a terrible win.

In any event, Lunardi is insane.

Not to be picky but Gonzaga can't play in Spokane. I also am praying that BU heads to San Jose after we win the MVC Tourney!

Gonzaga can because they havent played more than 3 games in that arena this year. So they can play in Spokane.

That would just be unfair. Spokane is in the middle of no where! It's nice place but right on the northern Idaho border. That would have to be one of the toughest places to get to.

At 12 losses and counting, Illini will need to get to 20-13 to have a shot...I still think they are undeserving regardless. Wins by anyone other than Butler in Horizon and UNI in MVC will boot the Illini out.

The thing saving Illinois is 3 wins over Top 20 teams (Vanderbilt, Michigan St, @Wisconsin). @Wisconsin in particular, they're getting mileage from it. You could also throw @Clemson in there considering it's a road game.

It looks like they'll get Wisky twice in a week. Once in the BTT, once before. They'll need to split those. Lose both and they're probably done. Win one and things get fun.

Oh yeah! That's why this is the most wonderful time of the year! :D

Don't forget about the "Obama-Factor".

They won't beat them twice and 19-13 won't be good enough with their RPI and bad losses. Too many ahead in pecking order for Illini this year

Speaking of Oregon State- note how bad the Pac 10 is this year. It is possible, even likely that there will be no team in the Pac 10 with fewer than double digit losses. For a conference that was one of the best for many years, there are only 3 teams above .500, and which appear to have any chance at all of an at-large bid if needed.

I see what you are saying... but don't you think being an Illinois State Senator and a US Senator from Illinois applies as well?

No. It's "downstate" which is one of those 7 extra states he counts. . .

I think he would be visible in support if they went to the Final Four, but that would be a political move. And he could care less if they are in the tourney or not.

Furthermore, he considers Hawai'i more his home than Illinois.
