Valley home attendance

Simple answer: Our attendance situation is extremely sad. I've harped on it a million times. Our schedule hasn't helped at all, nor has the fact that we've only had 1 game so far at home when students were there. Hopefully it starts to pick up now that we're in the Valley sched.

As for UNI, this is the 2nd year of the McLeod Center and they drew pretty well there last year. It only holds 7K though (maybe even a bit less for basketball?) Before that, I think they were only getting around 4K to the dome during most years, so their average is about on par.

Are Students Back Yet?

Are Students Back Yet?

There were so few students (I assume students) at last nights game I'm wondering if they are back from break yet? Didn't see too many standing for fight song so thought maybe they were Caterpillar interns with freebee tickets.
 
Students have been back for over a week. Classes began January 21.

Unfortunately, Bradley has a lot of Wednesday night classes and meetings!

does this writer know that ISU has been the league favorite since the beginning of the season and they have also had several games of less than 4500!!! This description sounds exactly like what has followed lots of ISU games this year AND last.
In fact, ISU's home attendance over the past two years is barely more than 5000, so just who is the pot calling black???

Benson has chastized the B/N community several times in the past for not showing support. I am certain he did it earlier in this season during the non-con. He's in no way being a hypocrite. He's called out ISU fans plenty about attendance. He's equal opportunity when it comes to this issue.

You love research so much. Look it up yourself.

OK, you say "in fact", so here some facts...

- Yes, we have had 3 home games this year (4 if you count the exhibition), where we drew less than 4500. But then again, would Thanksgiving break games with students gone against teams like Winston-Salem, Nicholls St and UCSB be expected to draw very well? I think not.

- 3 and 2 years ago (Moser's final 2 years), we averaged barely over 5K for the season, that is true. We got about 5400/gm in '06 and 5100/gm in '07.

- Last year, Jankovich's 1st season, we averaged around 6500 for the year. So far this year, we are averaging 6,719/gm overall. After Saturday is factored in, we're averaging 7,009/gm overall and 9,104/gm in Valley games. Not too shabby IMHO.

Nahhh

I don't want to be the bully who makes others cry 2 straight days. On the other hand the poll was quite a hit where it was intended to be and I fully appreciate all the attention your board gave it. That was not my intention but it sure was an enjoyable and entertaining byproduct. So thanks.
