Watch Rienk Mast streamed LIVE

I am thinking I am going to love watching Bradley basketball even more next year with these new guys coming in!!

I am looking forward to watching Bradley basketball next season! I am curious to hear your thoughts on how each of the new guys could impact the team. Will any of them be able to replace DLO and Luuk's contributions?

who me?

I have seen video of each of them and I have gone to see Jamir Price in action and all are talented enough to help right away - except Price who is probably a year away so undertsandably he's headed to prep school.

Rienk Mast is only 17 but think about this - he has already played 34 league games at the top pro level in Holland, plus he's played 18 EuroCup and Tourney games, plus he's played four more playoff games so far and could play up to 6-8 more, then he's also played dozens of U18, U20, U21 and SENIOR National Team games interspersed thru the season & last summer & fall, and is expected to play another dozen or more this summer during the FIBA U18 -
...so by the time he hits Bradley's campus, he will have played 80-90 games in the prior YEAR against seasoned pros and top amateurs and been coached by some very successful coaches... So I think he will be ready from the start to take over for Luuk and add a lot more.

Gabriel will need to adjust since I do not believe he has gotten very good coaching but he has played two years against top PREP SCHOOL competition including playing against some of the TOP TEN ranked prep schools in the nation and against the top prep players. I have compared him before to Theron Wilson - but he may have more ballhandling skills and has played point guard and well as low post. I am hopeful he can be what Cellus was for us.

Ville will help as PG and 3-pt shooter but has a freshman body and will need to work in the weight room.

Danya can give us some of what DLO and/or Luqman gave us and is more offensively minded

Antonio has a college body, is unselfish and will play some point guard right away.

Sean Houpt - hard to say - maybe some of what those guys at UNI like Marc Sonnen or Wyatt Lohaus always did to us...
..some timely 3-pt shooting and backup PG play...

The 2 guys that can replace the hustle, scoring, defense & rebounding that DLO gave us are Terry Nolan, Jr. & Kevin McAdoo - but we will have to wait a year - altho we will be able to see them in the Red-White scrimmage and any open practices that the staff may allow.
As I noted, I still have my concerns that if Kingsby's waiver is disallowed and we have an injury or two, we could be short on guard strength.

end of 1st quarter Donar trails 19-15
Donar shooting very poorly (just 1-8 from 3-pt)
Rienk Mast has hit his only shot, has 2 pts, 1 block

Donar now is blowing out Leiden....
only 4 minutes remaining and Donar leads 77-56 and that run to a 21 point lead was largely Rienk Mast getting HOT

Rienk played just 12 minutes of the 2nd half and was 4-5, hitting THREE 3-pointers, grabbing 6 rebs, 2 asst, 2 steals, 2 blocks -
his +/- stat is +27 - almost double the best that anyone of the other 21 players on the floor has!!

I sure hope we can keep Rienk for four whole years - the kid is a player - and was much of the difference today vs. the league's top team, ZZ Leiden

Final score Donar 93 - Leiden 63

Rienk Mast's final numbers
13 pts on 5-7 and 3-4 from 3-pt, 7 rebounds, 2 asst, 2 steals, 2 blocks
He was arguably the player of the game altho starting guard Teddy Gipson (19 pts/8 reb) was pretty good, too

after a 2-13 1st half from the arc, Donar went 12-16 from the arc in the 2nd half!!

DONAR sweeps the semi-final series and advances to the Championship series vs. the winner between Zwolle & Den Bosch
(their series is currently at Zwolle 2 - Den Bosch 1)

The next series is for all the marbles in the championship of the top pro Dutch league but don't forget
Sunday is the Championship game of U21 with Rienk playing for the Donar U21 teams for the title.

btw- here's the explanation why Rienk Mast did not start in this game against ZZ Leiden-
it was because he arrived a little late due to taking final exams!!!!

#2 seed Zwolle takes the series over #3 seed Den Bosch, and now they will face #4 seed Donar on Tuesday May 21

This will be a 7 game series with Donar hosting 3 home games.
The games will be May 21 (at Zwolle), May 23 (at Donar), May 25 (at Zwolle) and May 28 (at Donar) - then 3 more games - not yet scheduled, if necessary

Zwolle's best player is former ISU point guard Kaza Keane

Gotta say Rienk is really intriguing. Could be a pretty large contributor from the start as a freshmen if he can get these numbers going at the D1 level.

Today at 1:30pm Central Time is Game-1 of the Championship series of the top pro league Eredivisie

Donar takes Game 1 of the Championship series 72-69, rallying from a 7-pt halftime deficit and
outscoring Zwolle 21-9 over the final 3 minutes of the game to complete a great comeback.
Rienk was scoreless but grabbed 5 rebs & an assist & a steal
He also did a good job on perimeter defense and Zwolle's 4-22 (18%) from 3-pt range was a big reason Donar won!

Next game Thursday is a home game for Donar.

Rienk has a full schedule right now. Playing for the U21 team (sadly lost the final), doing exams and playing for main squad. The exams are now over so he can focus on the finals.
