Yes, it would make us a joke.
If we go through AD's like Glasser did in her previous tenure... Then yes, We will be a joke. Good luck landing recruits and moving your sports programs to the next level when the Athletic Department is imploding. I am hoping for the best right now, but expecting the worst.

A native of Washington, Ill., Butterly got his start in the field of athletics as the head basketball manager under head coach Bob Bender at Illinois State University. He received his bachelor's degree from Illinois State and in April 2005, was honored by his alma mater as the recipient of the 2005 Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Illinois State University.

        Interesting.

Here is my question. Where are we at as a University, in terms of being able to get an AD? Is an AD at an Atlantic 10 or Mountain West school going to leave their job to fill our opening? IS the Colonial Athletic Association a conference we should look at? I think before we list every great AD who we would all love to get, we need to be realistic as to where we are and how desirable a job the BU AD is. What conference of school can we draw a candidate from?

Versace hasn't ever been an AD but he has been a GM and a president of basketball operations in the NBA. Plus he already has the strong Bradley connection.

One thing to keep in mind, at your FCS schools, they have like anywhere from 5-10 associate ADs.

One name that hasn't been mentioned is John Searby. Whether or not he throws is hat in the ring is another thing.

Both have EKU and Richmond University in their Bios. I dont know if Glasser has Richmond in her's but she is an East Coaster by birth. But I am guessing one of the above is your new AD by atleast August.

Here is another with EKU ties. Has already proven that he can get along with the new prez

It would not surprise me in the least, but his resume administrative wise is real weak and only a BA in Spanish. But she went out of her way to get him as the BU baseball coach so who knows.

Versace makes an excellent choice btw. But the person who is chosen will have to have ties to her and must be a trusted soul. I do not think this hire will come from any BU tree, it will come from the Glasser tree. And I dont believe that will be good, especially fund raising wise. She might trust the hire but it will be difficult to get the "money" to trust her hire.

I am only guessing here but her handling of KK and honestly her flippid attitude towards his tenure at the University has to ruffled alot of "money" feathers.

I don't think money, from an athletics standpoint, will be a huge issue as long as JL is on board. Maybe that's just me, though.

That's correct, John no longer works at Bradley. But that wouldn't keep him from being interested in the AD job. His training is in sports management, I believe, and I think he is interested in becoming an AD some day.

This is one guy that is qualified and could do wonders with our flagship program. The one thing going against him though is that he is far from a yes man.

Nice thought. I'd love to see DV back at Bradley. But DV stands about as much chance of being named AD as Jim Les.

I mentioned John way back on page 2 of this thread Southpaw. I happen to think he would be an excellent choice.

Just a thought- won't these people who worked with KK be painted with the same broad brush? The old guilt by association?

If not- why not throw Dennis Kalina's name into the mix?
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???
