    AD qualifications

A soccer or baseball background would certainly be helpful but a basketball background could be even more helpful since that is the major sport and source of athletic funding at Bradley. I'm not advocating a "warmed over" or "has been" basketball coach but, rather, someone who brings a good level of basketball understand to the job. Could be an person who was once a Divn. I Assistant coach or a Divn. II coach. Could be a former womens BB coach.
Regarding Divn.I contacts, these can help in numerous ways. Scheduling, getting us in the right tournaments early in the season, good input from other ADs on issues or problems, good contacts if we ever have coaching changes, etc.

DeRose may be destined for bigger and better things, but I doubt AD is one of them (but I think he would be a good choice). I thought the fact that BU brought in Gettler retired former head coach from Richmond as an assistant was a curious move last year.

For sure. But there's no guarantee DeRose will stay at Bradley.

They wouldn??™t move him, he would take on both jobs ala Barry Alvarez. If he was willing to take on the responsibility it would be a way to boost his salary by a substantial amount of money.
          Can we start winning soon?

Alvarez didn't take the AD job until he was done coaching football.

Regarding the "no AD thing". Trust me, that has been discussed.

Alvarez was AD while he was football coach. He took over in 2004, and coached until 2005. John Mackovic had the same role at the U of I way back when.

The 'no AD' thing would make us a joke. Maybe we already are.

I was thinking it wasn't until he was done. It was at the least toward the twilight of his career. I don't think DeRose is there yet.

Yes, it would make us a joke.

If the Prez has been tough on AD's in the past maybe it will be tough find a quality AD

I think we should have a search committe made up of McDade and.

The AD position at Bradley would be considered an extremely attractive position.

Most people have no idea how hard it is to deal with all the things an AD has to deal with at most schools, how thankless the job can be, and how hard it is to raise money and build fan interest. However, much of that stuff is nearly automatic at Bradley. I am not saying what KK did was easy, but it is easier to be successful at a school like Bradley than at the great majority of D1 schools.
I am sure Bradley will have no shortage of highly qualified candidates, and I'd bet some have already inquired about the position. I have heard it said that such a job at Bradley is in the top 10% of non-BCS schools.

Maybe I'm wrong but didn't McDade resign as a trustee when his choice for basketball coach wasn't the one BU hired. No thanks. There will be a committee, but I don't want someone who cries when his choice isn't the one selected.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I don't have a problem with McDade resigning on principle. There was certainly more to it than his choice of coach. In respect to Bradley he didn't state his real reason for resigning. But it was clear something fishy was going on with the coaching search in 2002 and he resigned because of those actions, and not the ultimate choice.

As if you or anyone else didn't know his reason. I know you always have inside information, but it's obvious why he resigned. Only fishy thing was his choice wasn't selected.

I think the pool of applicants will start and end with these:

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

Both have EKU and Richmond University in their Bios. I dont know if Glasser has Richmond in her's but she is an East Coaster by birth. But I am guessing one of the above is your new AD by atleast August.
