2009 BU commitment- Jordan Prosser

Out of Bounce I still say we will start small this year. Our starting line up will probably be:

SM
DD
AW
TW
??

DO we have more height sure, but it will take some time for most of them to really contribute. Our strength is still with the guards.

Checked some comments on Illini board and there's obviously some bad blood there. Can someone enlighten me about why Illinois-Champaign-Urbana fans are so bitter? Seriously . . . I have no idea what that's about.

I respect your thought but as you know I disagree. The bigs will be ready from the start. Only Brown is new! We can't wait, we need to establish our style of play and the type of team we are going to be from day one. I have been saying for a long time, there is NO MV team that can match up to us on the inside! With the #'s/rotation of our bigs and if they put players on their butts and push them out of the paint,We win the MV!If we go small look for us to be 4-6 in the MV again. As much as Jimmy loves guards, I think he now knows that if we are going to be the force everyone wants, he has to have some horse's inside. I don't like guessing/picking the starting five but I will say this DD will win the MV #6 man award. Also I see us being a 9 to 10 deep team this year (5 true bigs and 5 guards).
As for JP what a great catch to go along with all the other bigs coming.

That's it . . . it's confirmed.

I don't want to make too much of this, but I'm not sure anybody can. I know he's been "downgraded" to a 3-star, but I've been predicting for a long time that JL would sooner or later get a 4-star recruit. This kid is widely regarded as a high-major prospect and was the kind of kid BU so often fished second with.

That trend finally has ended. JP was a top NATIONAL recruit, and Les got him. WOW!! Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall as Jim Les talks players out of accepting or even waiting for offers from schools like Indiana, Stanford, Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa Sate, ND, etc etc etc?

This program is on a HUGE upswing.

GO BU! GO JL! Time to start hanging some banners.

Van Coleman is now reporting the commitment on Hoopmasters. He indicates we beat out Indiana, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Northern Illinois, and Iowa in getting Jordan.

Welcome home Jordan-you made a great choice.

This is, quite possibly, the highest profile recruit Bradley has ever landed :) :)

Eh, not really. Mitchell Anderson was a top national recruit when he chose BU back in the early 80's. I believe Voise Winters was very highly regarded as well. While he didn't come to BU directly, Marcellus Sommerville was a 4-star recruit out of high school. But, to your point, this is certainly the highest-profile high school recruit in the Jim Les era, not only locally but also nationally.

I share everyone's enthusiasm in landing Jordan Prosser. This is a tremendous recruiting victory for BU for a number of reasons. First, it is the first time that we can truly claim victory over the Big 10 in a head-to-head recruiting battle, which is a very, very significant step. Second, it shows that getting in on kids early and staying persistent can yield rewards in the end. Lastly, it shows that highly regarded local kids are willing to stay home, and are worth recruiting.

I said from the beginning that BU didn't have much of a chance to land Prosser, even when it was down to just us and Iowa, simply because we really have never won a true head-to-head battle with the BCS. I am more than happy to be wrong on this one! I know some are waiting for an 'official' announcement from PJS, but so many sites are confirming this that I feel pretty confident that it is indeed true. Welcome to Bradley Jordan!

Its funny now that he is headed to BU it seems none of the other schools really wanted him. They are glad they didn't get him and they are better off without him. He is now not a major recruit and was always a mid major kid.

Glad to have him at BU and he will have a great four years and everything is falling in place for another NCAA run!!! Welcome to BU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many did back off because they had other kids commit. It doesn't make any difference really. JP ends up at BU and that's good for BU.

Could not agree more, as I said he will have a great four years in a BU uniform. The front line of the future is looking pretty good!!!

BB . . . I totally agree with (and respect) your knowledge of BU recruiting. This really is huge. How many times in the last 20 years has a kid like this told BU "almost"?

Anyway . . . that trend had to end if BU was gonna reach a new level. And it just ended! I doubt there's any way to over-state this. What a great day for JL!

Nice find SFP and Houston. It is nice to see news of Prosser's commit from different sources. I am now more fired up about Prosser coming to Bu and I didnt think that was possible.:)

I was reading the Iowa message board and found the same thing. I find this disturbing. Big ups for BU fans. When we miss out on say a Matt Roth, we wish him nothing but the best.

Sure I'm biased but this is exactly what you hope for....a kid getting recruited "over" you (BU) but sees playing time over the prestige of going BCS.

Prosser has the chance to play 4 years and really develop as opposed to possibly sitting at a IU or Wisconsin for one or 2 years.

This is how we can beat some teams in the NCAA like we did against KU and Pitt. 4 year mature players against alot of those 1 or 2 and done type teams.

I was really worried about Iowa....NOT becuase they are better than BU but becuase they are struggling and he could have played right away AND had the BCS prestige thing.
