When you lie, you get bashed.

Hmmm ... kind of like when it was proven JL told the team days before the UNI game that Ruffin would be out for an extended period, then told Reynolds the next day that he wouldn't count him out? Interesting. People here weren't rushing to bash him after that. In fact, almost everyone defended JL! Oh well. Currently a Brave, always a Brave. ;)

So TCS says there was no text message. Buuuuuuuut ... TCS says Lil' Bish said the same thing to him in person! That shouldn't exactly make it OK (if this stuff did happen, which we'll likely never know for sure) even if it is "legal" in the world of college basketball.

Scouter, do you enjoy abuse?! It would have been much easier to just write: "Please rip into me Bradleyfans. I really do enjoy being humiliated and called names. Hit me with your best shot." ;)

What were you thinking, man?

People here already think lowly of me. Can't get much worse. :D

Say WHAT!? You're kidding, right? No second opportunity?!

Geez!

Why would I be kidding? From what I saw this past season, there wasn't a defender that TCS wasn't capable of blowing by and he looked good out on the break next to SM. There is no question that he made poor decisions at times and never really got his shot to fall consistently...but I felt that he would come back with a little more confidence next year and a more determined effort to get to the rim instead of taking the three. I didn't think that it was unrealistic to see him turn into a valuable spark guy off the bench, able to put up a lot of points quickly. That's my opinion...you obviously feel differently...seems the coaching staff did too.

The guy set a D-I record last season for missed layups...

As stated in an earlier post, we also need to know the context of little Bisch's statement. Was it ment to improve TCS's game or to run him out. Again, we will never know for certain.

After all of this I wish JL would have just told TCS you need to move on, we made a mistake and your scholarship is not being renewed. Instead it appears JL wanted him to be part of the program, but probably told his staff to make TCS work like he could never imagine.

But I am wondering about the quote attributed to EB, so what if he told TCS exactly what TCS claims. Maybe EB didnt like how TCS worked, or maybe he didnt believe TCS was a good player, maybe JL told him to work TCS rear off, but so what, was he supposed to hug him and tell him everything was going to workout just fine then head over to Baskin Robbins for a shake? I know everything is supposed to be PC and no one is supposed to be offended but EB, if he said what he said, essentially told TCS you can stick around but its going to be on MY TERMS. So what if TCS got his feelings hurt, Im sure he isnt the first player at BU or in college athletics who was told in no uncertain terms you will work harder then you have ever imagined.

As far as JL telling his team one thing then not telling the samething to Reynolds. You want to revisit that huh? Why is it required for JL to tell the media something about his team that will give an advantage to the team they are going to play. The only people in the situation with UNI, Ruffin, the BU team and the paper who was on a need to know basis is the team, not the paper or UNI. Why is it so difficult to understand that in competition it isnt always to your advantage to give your opponent every single bit of information that could make their preparation for you easier?

I only mentioned that situation in response to the hypocrisy of Chico's post. I've said this before, I'll say it again and then I'll leave that topic alone (for now) because it's been beaten to death.

If Les didn't want UNI to find out anything, then he shouldn't have discussed Ruffin's situation at all. He easily could've declined to comment about Daniel and his injury instead of leaving open the possibility of him playing. Instead, he addressed it and said he wouldn't count him out for the game. Then people found out he told the team otherwise and it didn't look good for JL. He could've avoided it altogether if he hadn't discussed it in the first place.

actually in every one of these cases, most of the debate over the accuracy of peoples' statements, is directly due to poor research, poor corroboration of facts, and poor wording of what gets written and made public.

Are we to believe what Eric Buescher said, just because several weeks after he allegedly said it, TCS cites the comments and his dad errs in saying it was a text message?
this kind of horribly contradictory statements about absolute hearsay would be totally inadmissible in any reasonable court of judgment.

If you or I had our everyday words scrutinized and misquoted several weeks after they were allegedly spoken, can you imagine the mess we'd all be in trying to defend stuff we KNOW we never said?

I am going to take the preemptive step of saying that unless someone overrules me, I am going to lock all discussion on this topic if it in any way cites those ridiculous hearsay quotes and non-existent text messages or in any way attempts to impugn the BU coaching staff on such weak evidence from a disgruntled "Ex".

Scouter as SICK as I am of this discussion you can't possibly be using JL's injury story as a basis of comparison.

If it menas anything BP I agree 100%....

In one case, one person was found to be less than honest about the situation.

In another case, a poster here "bashed" someone for being less than honest about the situation.

I think a comparison can be made.

Why exactly are TCS's comments now declared to be 'ridiculous hearsay quotes' and 'weak evidence'? Because you don't want to believe them?
Just curious.
Could they be completely fabricated, exaggerated, or blown out of proportion? Certainly. That doesn't mean they are, though.
Only Jim Les, Eric B., and TCS know what was actually said and done in this whole situation...and they are the only ones that know which set of details can truly be labeled as ridiculous, weak, lies, truths, etc.

Well put, ER3. Everyone needs to realize the people here don't know what's totally true and what's totally false. We should be equally critical of both sides and their "hearsay."

only one "side" is attacking the other with quotes of what was allegedly said, and using those allegations to be quite critical of the other "side".

To their credit, the entire BU staff has said nothing but nice things about the other "side" and has denied the allegations.

Since the text message is non-existent, then the only other attack seems hinged on the recollection of a few words allegedly spoked maybe weeks ago, which are not admitted to by the one who allegedly spoke them.
Thus it is hearsay. Had Dave Reynolds heard those words, he should print them. If it is hearsay, then how low does the PJS stoop?? Do they begin printing every alleged quote that anyone wants to claim someone else said?

As for this board, we are not going to allow hearsay comments that attack the staff at BU to be propagated.
It is in the rules as not allowed......and I am the ref and I am blowing the whistle on it.
