Saturday can't come any sooner for me, and probably for all the players who I would think want to atone for their mental mistakes.

Wish we had one of our conference games up after Drake instead of UIC. Hope we come out angry and lay the wood to them.

Mise well be like the Spurs and give the bench major minutes....

this game is pointless

No it's not. I still want to see Bradley finish above .500. They have to win this game to do so. It's a very winnable game if we play like we did the first 30 minutes against Drake, but for the entire game.

Is there / will there be a bus trip for this game?

Is there / will there be a bus trip for this game?

Or any other type of gathered/shared/collected transportation to this event? Let me know, pilgrims ... ... ...

this morning's column explains why our Strength of Schedule is so bad...it wasn't our fault...blame it on Doug Elgin
"Bradley’s nonconference SOS is 343. Only New Jersey Tech, Wright State,
Loyola-Chicago and Houston are below the Braves..

..The conference office wants right-size scheduling. If you think you’re an
NCAA at-large team, you need to play a big-time schedule. If you’re at the
bottom, you need to play games that are winnable. Everybody has basically
done their part.”

there's also a report on the 25th anniversary of the Hawkins 63 point game

I think we have a shot at losing the rest of our games. That would be bad.

Then let's get one tomorrow and then see what happens after that.
That would be pretty said to think what could have been if we didn't prepare for this game and then lose out due to the hangover of the loss at Drake.

We already let a hangover beat us against Portland this year. Hope we learned from that one already.

"Bradley is 14-2 when it outscores the opposition in the paint
and 1-11 when the opponents own the paint scoring advantage."

I think that's the story of our entire season right there....failure to get the ball into the paint...cause

also I note their game notes hype Josh Crittle for Horizon League Newcomer of the Year...
Crittle is a well traveled 5th year "supersenior"......he has changed high schools and colleges multiple times....
He'd be among the oldest players even on an older Bradley squad and he's been in Division I 5 years - but he is technically a newcomer to the Horizon although I'd prefer to see a younger guy this award

One other funny thing - the bio of Howard Moore states he was the lead off campus recruiter and responsible for Bradley landing future NBAer Danny Granger!
"Moore served as an assistant coach at Bradley University where he worked as a the lead off-campus recruiter and mentor to both the guards and post players.
The 2001 recruiting class was one of his best, featuring Danny Granger, who eventually blossomed into a 2009 NBA All-Star as a member of the Indiana Pacers.
He also helped mold Phillip Gilbert and James Gillingham into All-Missouri Valley Conference selections."

http://www.uicflames.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/moore_howard00.html

but it gets even funnier - because the very next page over - on Biancalana's bio - he claims the exact same thing...
".. as the first assistant and Interim Head Coach at Bradley University from 1999-2005...
Biancalana served as the program's main recruiter and was responsible for bringing in the majority of the roster
from the Braves' 2006 "Sweet 16" run.
The last two players from the Missouri Valley Conference to be drafted in the NBA, Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers) and Patrick O'Bryant
were recruited by Biancalana..."

AB's bio fails to note that he tried to get the D-II Bemidji State head coaching job last summer but the job went to someone else.

points in the paint aren't scored much by the bigs.....DSE and WL score quite a bit there

I know - even more troubling..

UIC hardly gets anything off the bench - in that respect they are like us...
although we have 5-6 guys who score - they really only have 4 ..
their 5th best scorer - starter Marc Brown - averages only 5 ppg on 34% shooting and a really hard to believe 23% from the arc - since the guy is one of their 3pt shooters.

One other thing I saw on their message board - they puzzle over the fact that Bradley & their fans want to play in Chicago...
...they apparently do not realize we have thousands of alumni living up there plus we benefit by getting exposure there and playing in front of a good recruiting base

Yeah, I saw that too. Not sure why they think it's not that great to play in Chicago. The city is pretty much up for grabs when it comes to college basketball affiliation and most of best Chicago recruits never stay in the city or even in Illinois.

I'm headed to the UIC Pavilion with a group of 19 today. Hope to see a ton of BU alumni from the area and make it more like a neutral court game!

UIC hasn't drawn more than 4,000 at home all year, even for their conference and city rival Loyola. In the 2007 opener, the attendance was 6,080 and that was their second highest home attendance for the season (game with Butler was 7,799 that year). So this will probably be their best draw of the season.

Also, the person I talked to at the UIC ticket office seemed really nice, even when she knew I was a BU fan. She told me the $10 tickets would normally be $18 for other games. Does anyone know if BU negotiated that price or was UIC just playing to the BU alumni in the area to get a higher attendance?

Thanks DC ... ... ...

Had a feeling there would be no gathered groups going to the playing game. This means also no white castle hamburgers and fries. Sadness. Again, thanks for letting me know.
