so...everyone's happy that we had to abandon the game plan if we had any chance of winning?:-o
but we didn't abandon the game plan....we have been driving the lane all year...that's been our game plan for most of the year

The UIC broadcaster repeatedly described Bradley as a team with no talent that plays a good game plan and still wins some..
I kinda disagree - we are a team of very talented guys - and we don't always play a good game plan but they play hard and they can literally carry us at times when we're in foul trouble or not passing & playing a good game plan
lefty - the game I saw - for the first 35 minutes we at least tried at times to get the ball down into the hands of our post players, then we shot several 3-pointers - then the final 5 min we converted only to driving the lane..
I would guess that the announcer, David Kaplan, got his information from Dave Reynolds. Probably was told what a super job our "great" staff is doing without any talent. More handing out of Kool Aid. We have probably the best two guards in the league, adequate bigs and yet we are told we have no talent. Do we need more talent? Yes, we certainly do. Are we without talent? No, we have talent, just very little of it recruited by our "great" staff (according to that award winning sportswriter DR.) Spin, spin, spin.
I don't know where they got their info - they were dead wrong about all the new players we have and how we lost so much talent (Taylor Brown & Donivine Stewart?) and that Geno is starting from scratch with no talent as of he was just hired last month and we don't have any juniors or seniors and nobody who can score or play defense....
Really I was just responding to the "game plan" that driving lane isn't apart of it when we know that is one of our strengths and have been doing it all year.
I only saw the second half of the game
At this point, I agree. Crawford, Hodges, Shayok, Bell, and Pickett. Other than one player, I haven't seen too much production from these guys.
I like Pickett.
I'm not sure how much time Bell and Crawford get next season.
Shayok has been a disappointment.
Hodges.....
I'm hoping the players we have coming in next season changes that and RC can get some talent to come here and play!
I noticed that too. Kaplan ripped BU for getting rid of Les when it happened, and I believe Les was a guest on some NCAA show Kaplan hosted soon after he was fired.
We do have a few talented kids but not many. Love JE and JP but if they are getting major minutes you won't contend for titles. Also lack of depth from our bench hurts. Geno and his staff have done a whale of a job this year.Hopefully they can bring in some top tier Valley players than we can better evaluate whether he can coach or not. My bet 's on Geno.Well I certainly don't think we have a team of very talented guys.....
I assumed you were exaggerating. But that is pretty much what it says. Except for the Geno Ford calling plays part.
Not what I saw. I personally feel it is a pretty poor recap.
I think it's time for certain of our fans here and on other boards to stop trashing our kids - as they have more talent than they're being given credit for..

I'm wondering if they obtained some outdated Bradley media guide from early last year. I just don't get how they can be so missguided considering that they did mention that Bradley is one of the most improved teams in Division I this year.
I don't know who the play-by-play announcer was today, but the analyst Dave Kaplan is a long time sports talk host and reporter on WGN radio. Considering that Bradley hardly gets any media coverage in Chicago despite their large alumni base here, this does not surprise me that Kaplan and the other announcer were so missinformed.
Did anyone else listen to Coach Ford's postgame radio show? He seemed overly preoccupied with some bits of confetti that fell when the PA system was blasting loud music. I saw that but didn't think much about it during the game, but it sure seemed to bother the coach.
... we do have enough talent to at least be competitive and to win over half our games this year. ..
