Offers for 2026 and beyond

Yep pretty incredible Yoda! And our season is likely done! But fans are hungry for what's to come! No break between seasons for BU fans! And I love that!
Yes We are getting ready for next season already. Plus I think the following and loyalty of the fans would be a big plus for recruits

not that anyone of these guy are recruits- but they may become recruits...(hopefully Lathan Sommerville)
so here are some games to watch today....

Peoria Manual HS plays their IHSA State Semifinal game today at 2:30pm. Not sure ifi it is carried on any Peoria stations.
Only WCIU in Champaign and a few cable systems - LINK --- There's also a subscription YouTube channel- LINK
Maybe one of the local channels will scramble and pick it up.
Update- Manual won 62-57 & will play Saturday for the State Championship

Right now - Miami (OH) is 31-0 and locked in a really tight conference tournament battle with UMass, up two, 39-37 at half
The game is on ESPN+. So many of their 31 wins have been really close - the last three were just 2-point margins, and
in fact EIGHT of their wins were one-possession wins.
Update - Miami (OH) list so they await the judgement of the selection committee

Drake 2.0, also known as Iowa plays Ohio State right now (11am) on Big Ten Network
Update- Iowa lost, too. They do not deserve a bid ahead of Belmont or Miami

Washington (with Lathan Sommerville) plays Wisconsin right after the Iowa game (1:30pm) on Big Ten Network
Washington lost, they won’t get a bid

Ex-MVC Loyola (9-23) finally won a game and play Davidson today at 6:30pm on USA Network. Their two games this season
vs Davidson were 15 & 20 point blowout losses, but who knows?
Loyola lost to Davidson, their season is done - 9-24

UC-Davis (19-13) won last night and plays Cal State-Fullerton at 10:30pm on ESPN+
UC-Davis lost to Cal State-Fulerton, their season is over

and don't miss Women's Team USA with Caitlin Clark- they play on TruTV (and a few other channels) at 6:30-7pm (following preceding game)
Yesterday, in just 19 minutes off the bench for Tean USA, Clark had 17 points on just 5 shots plus had 12 assists, If you count all the
points she was personally responsible for with her scoring and passing, it's almost 50 points.
She is intelligent, sees the floor, lnows where all her teammates and and what action is developing and every upcoming guard
should watch her play and see how she affects the game.
Caitlin Clark played well as Team USA clobbered Puerto Rico, 91-48 - Clark had 8 pts, 3 reb, 2 asst in 18 min
...with many observers noting an awful lot of selfish play

Not sure why I'm posting in this thread.... but this game just ended, and Miami-Ohio just lost in the quarterfinal round of the MAC Tournament for their first loss of the season.
Final score- UMass 87 Miami (OH) 83

Almar Atlason had 5 points and 4 fouls

Kinda what people predicted- they won a lot of close games and flirted with defeat and now it has bitten them

Given how crappy all the also-rans are in the big conferences, I think they should still get an NCAA bid

Iowa lost again today - they've lost 7 of their last 10, they do NOT beling in the NCAA Tourney yet the punduits say they should get in

and shame on IHSA that the state championship games are NOT being televised on systems in the Peoria market

Noah Mendy would be a great player for Bradley to get - extremely athletic.
Not a prototype Wardle point guard - not great at 3-point shooter but would be the most athletic player since Chris Roberts.
(in conf play- 49.8% overall, 36.1% from 3-pt, 81% on FTs, 19 ppg, 5 rpg, 2 apg)

***********************

Edit -- Update-

Daytona State trails at half 37-26 - here's the updated link for live stats - LINK
Daytona shooting poorly....Mendy needs to get on track and get going

Update- Mendy & Lacey getting hot, score now
Dayton State 46 - Chipola 45 - with 13 min to go

Further update
Noah Mendy did get hot and ended with 24 pts, 5 reb but wasn't enough
Final score - Chipola 76 - Daytona State 69
Daytona State should still be in the NJCAA Nationals with an at-large bid

Update- in Noah Williams' Regional Championship game
Final score: Butler Co 111 - Barton Co 103, so Noah & Barton Co go down, but likely to get an at-large bid to the National Tourney
Noah Williams had 20 pts/8 reb/2 asst so far

So both Noah Mendy & Noah Wiiliams join ...Kahu Treacher/EAC, Derrick Rivers/Dodge City, Sean Register/EFSC, Race Kowalczyk/St. John's, Braylon Roman/NWFSC as their seasons end for now.
..so Nazir Allen & Ben Thornbrue are the only ones left on our list with a chance to earn the autobids to the NJCAA Nationals

Mendy played very well down the stretch - he could be a difference maker with his athleticism, ability to slither into the lane to create shots, and shot-blocking ability. Let's get him!

I watched the 1A and 2A championships and none of those players are good enough now to play for Bradley. The Humbles kid has the most talent but he hardly shoots the ball from the outside. Both of those games were a layup fest.

Halftime score
Mineral Area 42 - Malcolm X 26 - Nazir Allen left the game (with 2 points) & went to the lockerroom early with injury

Update-
well, at least one of our guys' teams won...
Final score- Mineral Area 83 - Malcolm X 58, Nazir Allen did return and play in the 2nd half - stats pending
Mineral Area wins their Region's auto-bid to the NJCAA Nationals

also late 1st half, College of Southern Idaho shooting very poorly and down 27-13
** CSI comes back to win this game 102-96, Ben Thornbrue 21 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal
The team shot only 21% in the 1st half and fell behind by 15 but shot 66% in the 2nd half to rally & take the lead with 4 min to go - & win even tho Cochise shot 55%!
So CSI wins the auto-bid to the NJCAA Nationals

The NJCAA National tournament seedings (and at-large bids) will be announced Monday, March 16 at 6 PM ET
Mineral Area, College of Southern Idaho won their automatic bids, and
Barton Co, NW Florida State and Daytona State appear to have a good chance of an at-large bid
Dodge City, Eastern Arizona and Eastern Florida State are all less likely to get at-large bids.

This guy's projection is pretty accurate, except switch Barton with Butler - LINK
and then plug the teams into this bracket and it should be close to what we will see Monday from NJCAA

Another projected bracket- pretty accurate except swap Chipola & NW Florida St & swap Barton & Butler- LINK

....

Of the guys we are tracking, two are on teams that get an automatic bid to the NJCAA Nationals (Thornbrue, Allen).
They will typically be seeded higher and get first round byes, altho it is up to the NJCAA Selection Committee.
Another 2 or 3 are on teams that should be or are projected** to be at-large teams, but that waits to be seen,
and a couple are done for the season and the uncommitted guys will probably be taking visits & committing.
(Projected means that some bloggers who follow this closely are making projections and "bracketology" predictions)
The full bracket is supposed to be available later today.

Ben Thornbrue, (COMMITTED), College of Southern Idaho earned an automatic bid
Nazir Allen
, Mineral Area earned an automatic bid
Noah Williams (COMMITTED)
, Barton CC - is projected as an at-large team
Braylon Roman
, NW Florida State is projected as an at-large team
Noah Mendy
, Daytona State is projected to be an at-large team
Sean Register, Jr
, Eastern Florida State is a longshot to be an at-large team
Derrick Rivers, Dodge City will not make the tournament
Kahu Treacher, Eastern Arizona - Their season is over, they will not be an at-large team
Race Kowalczyk (COMMITTED), St John's Jesuit HS is done for the season

Here are the 16 automatic qualifiers who won their District Championships.
There will be eight at-large teams named, then seeded and placed into THIS BRACKET at 5pm today, Monday March 16.

Howard is seeded #1 overall- odd since they were ranked #4 behind College of Southern Idaho in the final NJCAA rankings, and in the meantime CSI has beaten the #1 team 3 times & lost only to #16 & #2, Howard has 4 losses.

I will check and make sure of all the times, and see if there are links to live stats or streaming

I have no idea how much money Bradley has to toss around. But they better be willing to dig a little for Alvey. ,,,,
Hank Alvey and Lehigh play in about an hour (5:40 pm Central) in their First Four NCAA game
It's broadcast on TruTV and streamed on TruTV.com - https://www.trutv.com/
Unfortunately it will overlap the ISU NITgame and the warmups for BU at Carver....

edit - in the first 13 minutes of the game Hank A,lvey playing very well.... 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 asst and he's being
double & triple-teamed leaving his teammates open for 3-pointers. Lehigh up 23-18.

Edit - update- Hank Alvey has 10 pts, 9 reb at halftime! His portal value is climbing by the minute...
Lehigh up 29-27

Final score-
Lehigh loses to Prairie View A&M 67-55
but Hank Alvey was a ton
23 pts, 14 reb, 3 asst

First game at the NJCAA Nationals is underway....

#17 seed Daytona State leads #16 seed Jones College 44-33 at halftime.
Noah Mendy (holds a Bradley offer) is playing well, 7 pts, 6 reb, 3 asst, 2 blocks

Bradley's chances of landing Noah Mendy took a hit this morning as it was announced that
Florida International Univ (FIU) just hired a new head coach and it's the CURRENT
DAYTONA STATE head coach & Noah Mendy's current coach, Joey Cantens.
I have to believe he's gonna offer a few of his own players at Daytona State.

update-- see above....
Daytona State kinda proves they were under-seeded as they blow out Jones College Final score 103-74,
Game 1 --- Noah Mendy had 19 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks
Daytona State advances to play the #1 seed Howard College on Monday at noon.
Here are the links for that game - STREAMING on ESPN+ -- LIVE STATS

Game 2 had Bradley commit Noah Williams scoring 23 points, 4 rebounds but
Barton lost to New Mexico Junior College 103-90, so they are done for the season. Hopefull Noah Williams will be on
Bradley's campus for the First SUMMER SESSION which begins really early this year - May 20.

Game 3 Final score- Monroe College 77 - Mineral Area 72- Mineral Area played poorly (22 TO) but
Nazir Allen was incredible - 26 pts, 14 reb on 11 shots, but their season is over.

Only Noah Mendy, Braylon Roman and Ben Thornbrue are still playing

Game 8- BU recruit Braylon Roman plays Sunday March 22 at 8pm Central
#11 seed NW Florida State
vs #22 seed Bishop State - LIVE STATS -

I watched the Barton game and Noah Williams. Maybe to brighten everybody's day Noah Willams is going to be a very good player. Plays bigger than he looks. Long arms on him. Could have scored more points today if they would have given him the ball more

By the end of the next couple weeks, we should have at least 3 or 4 open scholarships
I would be happy if Bradley landed Allen, Register, Mendy and/or Roman.....or a really good shooter or big man from the portal
I am less impressed with Rivers or Treacher
