What's up with Mo?

Alright, you and your Ivory Tower BS can get over yourself, its a discussion board. If you don't want/can't handle someone disagreeing with you, go write your posts in MS Word. Your statement is asinine. How the h$ll is the NBA draft the best measure for a recruiting class? How many players are gonna go in the draft from UNI this year? Or last year? Or Drake the year before that? How many NBA'ers did George Mason have the year they went to Final Four? Butlers will have ONE, but UK wil have 5, who did better?

Your entire argument is groundless, especially for mid-majors. "Other than POB?" How many lottery picks does a mid-major coach have to have to get a positive in the recruiting category, because Dana has zero, Todd Lickliter had zero, Thad Matta had zero, Matt Painter had zero.

So, please in a 'fair and objective' manner backed by examples and facts, show me one mid-major who we can judge their recruiting classes based on draft picks that is not under NCAA scrutiny.

I'm glad POB was a lottery pick. But what does that mean when it comes to playing in the MVC? Not sure it means a whole heck of a lot.

Anthony Parker wasn't a lottery pick, but if I had to pick between the two to play in the MVC I would take Parker. Same with Danny Granger. Same with Kyle Korver.

Even then, who's been more successful than POB? Heyward won't even go as high as POB did!

Look up guys from Gonzaga who made it to the NBA recently.

Dickau, Dan 2002
Frahm, Richie 2003
Morrison, Adam 2006
Turiaf, Ronny 2005

I also believe Heyward will make a great pro when it is all said and done and I expect at least another one of their players from their current team to play in the NBA.

Some may disagree, but I'd rather win the MVC every year, go to the NCAA's, and have no draft picks than have an NBA pick here and there and dance once a decade. That's just me though. To each his own.

Hell, I just want to win the MVC one time before they put a tag on my toe:cry:
I agree with you BB:D

Me too I could really care less about the draft picks, but if you win consistantly you will eventually have NBA players from your program. I want to see us challenging yearly for the MVC championship and playing consistantly on Sunday in St Louis.

It means zero where a player is drafted, sure it is good marketing for your program to say you had xyz or multipule xyz's drafted where ever but what is important is what that player does after being drafted.

There have been plenty of NBA players drafted very high and have done about as much as anyone on this board. There are also a lot of guys who dont get drafted who have made a ton of money and were very successful.

Me four. And I know I'm in the minority here, but I still think POB made a mistake by leaving early - he would have had great numbers at Bradley and have left stronger and better and still would have been drafted and probably have more money than he has today after two more free years at Bradley.

He maximized his earnings potential by leaving early. If he stays, he allows for more scouts to see him play more minutes and his deficiencies are more exposed.

I sincerely believe if he had stayed at BU for one more year, I have serious doubts he would have been drafted anywhere near the lottery.

I agree 100%. Post of the day.

Not any more. OoB just "one-upped" BradleyBrave for POTD!

FWIW, I also agree with you guys. :)

Do you really think so BU RICK? I agree with houston here in that POB made the right move by going when he did, or else...... But, then again, how many times have we beaten this POB horse to death? I'm just waiting for someone to come on here and post that we need to let this POB thing go and move on.

When your program is wallowing in mediocrity like ours has been for the MOST part of the last 8 years those things (NBA picks) are tossed out to gloss over the relative failures of what REALLY matters. Conference wins, titles, NCAA's, etc.

BB, this is exactly my point. I couldn't care less about lottery or NBA picks because they have about nothing to do with success at the college level (other than our guys doing well for themselves). But if that is how you 'judge recruiting,' BU has had success in getting 'High NBA Draft Picks' compared to other schools.

Oh, I know all the players the 'Zags have had, I was pointing out that none of them have done anything more than POB. I am still mixed on Heyward, he could be a solid pro, the only thing I know for sure is that his pick won't be as high as POB. That being said, POB has not even come close to living up to his draft stock.

We've hashed this out multiple times, but to me winning one NCAA game is about equivalent to one MVC championship. I would trade our Sweet 16 run for 3 championships, 2 its a toss up, and I'll take the sweet 16 over one championship.

Barring injury I think Heyward will be as solid a pro that comes out of this draft. He is long, athletic, handles the ball great, is a legit 6'8, can get to the rim finish, has a mid range game and can step out and score from 3.

I think he is being a little overlooked because he is white and he does not have that look of a "tough" athlete.

I can not believe anyone would consider Ed Davis, Paul George, Xavier Henry or Luke Babbitt before Heyward. Outside of Turner, who will be a STUD and Wall and Favors I dont think really anyone is a more well rounded basketball player in this draft then Heyward... maybe James Anderson.

I don't think Hayward will make it.

I love how we are so bored we have the same arguments every week!

I think the guy will make it big if he gets with the right team. I think he has all the tools to be the next Bird. He's a gamer and is not scared or timid to mixing it up. I like him and his chances, just rather, prefer to see him play another year at Butler.

Bored:!::? Go wading in the water on the golf course's:-P

So why would you think he wont make it?

The only part of his game lacking is consistant shooting from long range. Unless he is lazy or gets hurt he has all the tools a basketball player should have to be a good to solid NBA player.

I dont know if he will ever be in the class of Larry Bird, but there have not been many ever who have achieved the game Bird played.

Me sixth or seventh! I'd have to say 99.9% of the fans on this site have to agree with this statement.
